Its true that Plastic Bottle do last forever..

How Many people remember the old plastic bottles, the one with the glued on bottoms to make it stand upright and those metal tops???.. I found this bottle in one of my local parks.. the bottom is gone, but the glue is still there..

Community Center and Qnotes

This week edition of Q-notes has all the information and event info for the Eastern NC LGBT Community.

Matt did a wonder job cover our local protest that was held in Greenville a few weeks ago. Hats off to Matt and the staff of Qnotes.

James aka Sick, is working hard getting the much need information and forms together to open a Local LGBT Center in the Area. He knows that this task wouldn’t be easy, but he is slowing working on it.

Buyer beware of Satellite Internet Service

If you are one of those people whom is considering get the so-called high-speed internet by satellite, don't this is a complete rip off. Their services are no better then dial up internet service. Customer service is another complete joke. I get better service from my toilet, then them.

 

No, matter what they will lie to you. We ask would it go out in the rain, "No" is what we were told, boy three clouds is enough interrupt your signal, which mean no internet, damn, at least it take a major down pour to knock out dish network and Direct TV out.

 

The free insulation is also a complete lie, only if they can mount it on your roof, if not then it will cost you over $150, for a pole and some cement, I kid you not. Also if you need more than 75 feet of cable, that will cost you as well.

 

Let not forget that you have a running thirty-day usage quota, which is about 1.5 g in thirty day period, so not downloading of movies from the I-Tunes. You would also need to watch how many video you watch on YouTube as well.

 

Then there is the problem with WebPages not loading completely which they claim is your computer fault, not that their servers cut you off, forcing you to reload the page, which goes against your usage quota.

 

So before you chose to go with Hugh's net, Wild Blue or another other Satellite internet service, do a search online, to see what you are getting in to, and to see what others have to about the matter as well.

Gay rights activists protested the Monday morning meeting of the Pitt County Board of Commissioners in response to the board's recent discussions on same-sex marriage.

Protesters gathered in reaction to Commissioner David Hammond's recent proposal to send a resolution to the N.C. Association of County Commissioners that would oppose same-sex marriage in North Carolina.

Less than 10 people gathered at the corner of Greenville Boulevard and Red Banks Road at 7 a.m. Monday before moving to the county office for the 9 a.m. board meeting.

“I think today was just the beginning,” Randy Toler, one of the protest's organizers, said.

“We had a small group mainly because of timing of the meeting. I think today was a very good beginning, and I think we can do a lot of good.”

Several people on both sides of the issue spoke during the public comment section of the meeting.

Some were holding signs in opposition to same-sex marriage.

“Constitutions are not a way to divide,” Georgia Winfrey, who supports gay rights, said.

“Respect for diversity is what had made this country strong since the beginning.”

The commissioners have taken no action on the issue.

A community LGBT Meeting has been set up at the Tipsy Teapot on Evans st, to discuss to see if there is enough interest in starting a Community LGBT Center in the area.

The LGBT Generation Gap

Here lately it seem the Generation Gap within our community is really staring to get out of hand. LGBT member born at least 10 before the computer age are starting to feel left out by their own communities.

I was born in 1972, just a few years after stonewall and Woodstock. I grow up and start dating when AID’s/HIV was just starting, I watch from my closet when ACT up started and so many other great LGBT Org’s start, but I fail to get on board of any of these since being out in the 80’s was a public death sentence in VA. I move to NC in the winter of 91, where I was shown my very first gay bar, bookstore and many other items what we experience for the first time once coming out. However I still didn’t get on board of any of these Activist Org’s and groups. I played the field like so many of us did, once coming out.

Now that I’m older and bit more wiser, there are so many things from my youth that I regret, miss opportunities  that I would never get back, and those mistakes that we wish we didn’t make. Anyone who claim there is nothing in their life they would change if they could is a liar. I wish I had be brave to coming in my teens, while still in school. I wish I had got my political in my youth then now. I wish I volunteer more and did more in my community when I was younger. For many of us this wasn’t a option then.

I recently tried to join/apply for a position with a group that will once again go in to action next year, to only to be shot down, simply because of my age. How nice in a community where we value openness and inclusive, and diversity, we still discriminate against because of our age. Even if the event is youth focus, why can’t those who are older be included as support staff? I’m tired of being told that this and that is for the youth of our community.

The really funny thing is that this group/organization was started by to guys that was over 45 years of age at the time. What the youths of this generation has to understand is if it was for the actions of the two generations before my, there would be none of these rights that they enjoy today in our communities. The Falwell’s, Robinson’s, the Bryant’s, and many others would have won their campaigns against us.

We need to stop this ageism, which is define as the stereotyping of and discrimination against individuals or groups because of their age. It is a set of beliefs, attitudes, norms, and values used to justify age based prejudice and discrimination. Why is it not ok to judge people by their race and gender in our community, while it’s ok to discriminate against our older member of our community.

So lets stop this one form of discrimination that is running wild in our communities and our organizations. United we Stand, divided we fall. We need everyone in our community, not just young ones.

Its getting there

At the beginning of this pool season my sisters pool water was once again so cloundy that you couldn't even see an inch down. This was the case last season as well, after spending hundreds and hundreds dollars this year she decided not to buy the all the chemicals that she need till he clear up.

The only chemical brought was shock and 3'in col taps. Between May and Now the water stay cloudy, last week after doing some research on pool water, a site ofter this tip, either to try diatomaceous earth or a lithium shocker,  I brought a box of D.E since it was the cheaper of the two. I have used about 10 lbs of this earth and pool water is clearing up big time. You can now see down to the third step, not all the way to the bottom yet, but its getting there. So she has decided to buy all the other chemicals that she need, since she won't be closing her pool til the end of September..

Just a thought don't always go by what the pool guy say, check it out on line, to see how other have handle this problem,,it could save you a bunch of money, like I did with the D.E, since the L Shocker would have costed over 50 bucks where I only paid 20 buck for 25 lbs of D.E vs 6-9, per bag of L Shocker..

The Book that has cause so many Problems

This book has cause more harm to man then any other item/weapon know to man.

Sad but true.

There are some good life lesson in it, I like this one the best, “Do onto others as you would  have them done on to you”.

This book has been used to justify just about every war, Keeping African-American as slaves, Keeping women barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. It was used to block people from marring a persons of another race. It was used to keep women from voting and owning land.

Also this book is full on contradictions, thou shall not kill, yet in many case it calls for killings.  “killing is wrong unless it a person who disagree with your religion.” “Its funny that you can kill other men, just don’t fuck their wives.”

I’m tired of them constantly using Leviticus, against people. Which is the third book of the bible.
this is the line they used against us everyday Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 

I see that the churches don’t call for this, Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. I guess it time to start kill cheating spouses.

How about 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
 
There is this 19:13 Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: Just how many time have we heard a pastor/priest claim they need our money or god would strike them down.
 
They don’t talk about his one much either Leviticus 21:5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

How about his one that deals pig skin, since we all love football, Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. 11:8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

Lets talk about these to from Exodus

21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.

I know for a fact that there are so many who break this one every week, even the Priests and Reverends, pastors,, Since this is their chosen work

I hope one of his education lacking child doesn't come home tell him that she is with child or worst that they are HIV +.. These bigots make me sick... Yes, I have found a new topic/group to rant and bitch about on this blog, However I know when I start that a young activist living in Charlotte might take it personally. I want it to be known now that I'm not attacking him or those that are now in or have been with this group in the past.

This nice little organization has piss me off in a email and I will blog about this in detail later.

People with job they shouldn't have (photography shops)

I call a local Photography supplies shop today and some dumb blond i'm sure, I call and asked it they had the Digital sensor cleaning Kit, she reply she didn't know what type of kit i was talking about.

Ok if you work in shop that sell camera and photography equipment and you don't know what a Digital Sensor cleaning kit is then you need to find another job. the owner need to get rid of this person. I can only guess that reason why she is there is to service his needs..

On Monday, June 29th 2009 at a meeting of the Pitt County Board of Commissioners, the Rev. David Hammond (District 1 - Greenville) urged fellow Board members to adopt a resolution opposing same-sex marriage. If passed, the issue could go to voters in November. Rev. Hammond has begun vigorously drumming up anti-LGBT support and it is our duty to show the other side of the "spectrum". I will be standing outside the next Commissioners Meeting with signs (silent protest) and I need some people to be there with me. It is at 9am on Monday, July 13th. Anyone who is free for the hour that morning is welcome to come take a stand with me...my last visibility protest (Prop. 8 protest on Greenville Blvd.) was very successful a few months ago and I think this is the best time to do it again!
