In response to a follower who called him "gay" for hurting his hand on a punching bag at the gym, Ashton Kutcher twittered (to his 290,655 followers): "can we just get clear, calling some one 'gay' or 'fag' is as derogatory as calling someone a 'nigger'. U look like an idiot when you do it."

Ok First off I would have to question if this is the true Ashton Kutcher, with that said, how can we claim the word "gay" is derogatory, when we have chosen to used it, if we now feel that is derogatory then we need to come up with a bunch of new initialism. I guess we can just call ourselves Homo r us, or homosexuals are us.

So if Gay is now Derogatory then what is Lesbian?

LA HRC Gala

I have notice that LA is getting for their HRC Dinner and Gala on the 14th of this month. I have notice that tickets prices for this event is double then the cost of a ticket to the NC HRC dinner gala. Hell LA Gala has the VIP part as well, where you get to hob nob with the so-called VIPs, which in most cases are Actors/Actress, or any other person that they have dean a VIP for the Nite.

At this year Gala, Ms Wanda Sykes will be there, only because she recently came out as a lesbian, I would have to question the timing of this news. T.R Knight will also be there with Dianne Feinstein as the Keynote speaker. Yes no Dinner would be complete without one of your State Senators to give a prepare speech written by their speechwriters.

Also in attendance will be Michelle Clunie, who if you remember is Mel from QAF, and Jane Lynch who is from the L-word, how nice to women who have played lesbians on two Showtime Shows.

The events for the evening start with the VIP Cocktail Reception. Yes if you were able to buy the $400 ticket you get to sip champagne and make boring same talk with Wanda, Dianne, TR, Michelle, Jane, and other so-called VIPS, in most case you might be able to meet and talk with without paying for the honor to talk to. An hour later all others gets to come in and try to speak with the VIPs, and bid on items for the silent auctions. Once those items are taking care it will be time for dinner and awards, with some lite comedy from Ms Wanda then the speeches from the invited speakers, then some awards will be handed out for those who HRC thinks deserved these awards for their work in the community.

I have notice that the LA Derby Dolls, will also make a appearance, I wonder will they be on skates or will they be in evening wear? I also have to wonder what Julian Bond, the Chairman of NAACP will be talking about. What speech will Joe give at this event, I'm sure the Prop8 will be a main speaking point, and what will be next for the fight for Same Sex Marriage.

Also in other items, I have notice that HRC don’t include those members of the community who make less than $50,000/y. I can only conclude that those in the range just don’t matter to HRC.

More on thoughts on the NC Marriage Counter Protest

Those bigots claim they had between 3000, to 4000, people at this Rally.

I was piss that only 17 People showed up for a counter Protest, I was told that it was a bad ideal by a few, and by one other that we would not be able to get enough people to make an impact.

Yesterday in my email box under another email name, I receive a community news letter, which claim that it reaches over 4500 weekly.

You know if these 4500 LGBT's members and supporter had shown up for this counter protest the Capital Police would not been able to keep us out of Halifax Mall grounds. We would have out numbered the police by 100 to 1. We would had the number to show that we are not invisible and that we are not second class citizens. Numbers to show that we will fight this cause. That we will not simply sit by and allow hate to be written into our Constitution.

So do we have these number in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area, if so then please explain to me why we can't get enough to show up for a counter protest against these religious Bigots. Yet, many of these 4500 people did make the time to attend the NO on Prop 8 national protest for CA.

Paul Stam, the Rep. Bigot

The 2009 legislative session has just begun and our state faces huge challenges: rising unemployment, a growing budget shortfall, crumbling infrastructure, and a broken mental health system, to name a few.

So what does NC House Republican Leader Paul Stam spend his time worrying about? Creating jobs? Repairing bridges? Helping those who've lost everything in the downturn?

Nope. He's too busy making sure that my partner and I don't have-and will never have-any rights or recognition in this state.

Yep, within the first hours of the session, Stam made clear that writing anti-gay discrimination into North Carolina's constitution was a top priority for him this session.

I would have to wonder how he got in bed with these bigots. Just how much or what is he getting in return to push this through? Is it money, land, or could it be a Baptist’s virgin? Which is hard to find, unless the virgin in question is under 11?

I check out his web site, and found the following,

Each year thousands of bills are introduced. I will support those, which promote:

• Clean water through regional cooperation;
• Empowering parents to ensure quality schooling for their children;
• Fairness to state employees;
• More freedom, Less government;
• Prolife protection for mothers and children;

I will continue to fight wasteful spending, including hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies to out-of-state corporations. State government’s 19% increase in spending over two years (2006-2008) is not sustainable.

Well let’s see, quality schooling, yet the school budget being cut, why? More freedom, yet he would deny those who need protection the most.

To me, this is just another old windbag, selling his services to the highest bidder.

I have to wonder what he did with all his time while attending Michigan State University. I bet he might had attended Woodstock as well, party with the party goers and try some special cool-aid, however I’m sure he was no virgin when he got married.. I would have to guess he did not have the right stuff to be a true marine, since he was only in the service for two years before his honorable discharge.

Then there is this,

So does this mean that he would be an advocate for those LGBT members who have been bashed, shot, and kill solely on hate?? One would have to wonder.

Courts and legislators, applying common sense, have known for thousands of years that the basic building block for any society is the family.

Very interesting, yet when kids don’t do as the parents wishes, some of these so-called building blocks basically throw their children out in the streets. Where most of these young kids become criminals and or killed/die on the streets. I guess these so-called good parents did their best (which most will claim they are good Christians folks). What about those block who would rather put their mentally ill kids in state run institutions instead of caring for their kids, yet when these kids are abuse in these institutions. These same parents run to the nearest law office seeking to sue. As Dixie Carter said in Designing Women, we don’t hide our crazies; we display them on the front porch for the world to see.

Some may see my remarks as critical, merely pointing blame and nothing more. After all, it makes us feel uncomfortable to think that we believe in an organization that has not been successful with our money. But trust me, I am looking in the mirror myself. I was one of the first co-chairs who originally brought the HRC dinner to Charlotte. I was a HRC Board of Governor for two years, until I resigned. I had been a volunteer since 1992 when I was in college. I stood by HRC and part of me still does believe, maybe naïvely, in what HRC can do for LGBT equality nationally. But I have also witnessed the bad side of an organization that has actively worked to stamp out other regional and national organizations’ efforts and take all the credit so they can raise more money. Whether we admit it or not, HRC has become a political fundraising machine — at the peril of others within our own LGBT and ally family.

I completely agree with Shane,

We need to build our local LGBT centers up. We need to work as a group who isn't soley dependent on a National Organization.

Also I see in his piece that he mention that HRC will hold their next dinner and gala in Raleigh, NC, this I'm looking forward to.

If can help to raise so much money for HRC, then why can't we do it for our local LGBT Centers, where the money would do the most good.

A good Fiend of my is trying to start and open a Local Center here in Rocky Mount. He recently told me that he never would have believe it take so much work and planning to open a LGBT Center. He told me it's just not as simple as getting a building and opening the doors. That the process is full of politics.
