Julia Hall, vice president of the Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Mountaineers, said the group had no idea of the signs prior to Monday, and she was not sure if the fliers sympathize with anti-gay or pro-gay movements.
It was announced last summer that West Virginia University signed a contract with the company for the installation of the restaurant in the Mountainlair, which will be opened sometime in February or March.
Hall said BiGLTM members have discussed the issue of boycotting the company, but their opinions are divided on support or opposing the addition in the Mountainlair.
"While we're against anti-gay statements, there isn't enough support among us to oppose them on campus," Hall said.
The Morgantown Police Department was not previously aware of the signs and sent officers to inspect them Monday. Police dispatchers said the signs could be considered hate crimes depending on charges made by the court, if the company or a person who made the signs is found.

Students at Texas Tech University are now petitioning to drop Chick-fil-A as a weekly vendor, after numerous stories noted the restaurant's deep connections to anti-gay organizations like Focus on the Family, The National Organization for Marriage, Exodus International, and the Pennsylvania Family Institute. Gay students and their straight allies want to send the message that supporting discrimination in any form has no place on the campus of Texas Tech University.

I like to keep a local and North Carolina spin on my blog. You were the only gay person in North Carolina I knew of making excuses for Chick-fil-A. Plus, your comment about LGBT people being "bullies" fit in with my discussion of freedom of speech vs. freedom from criticism.
Free speech is a two-way street, folks. It’s not a hard concept to understand. If Chick-fil-A wants to sponsor anti-gay organizations and events, by all means they have every right to do so. Their only point of decision will come down to whether or not utilizing that right to speech is in their best, fiscal interest. Because, after all, consumers aren’t drones. We have our own thoughts and opinions, and every right to express them and organize around them.
