Recently Mary wrote on her Facebook page the following, which I’m sure will piss off many GayInc’ers and many in the Drag community too..

"Why is it socially acceptable - as a form of entertainment - for men to put on dresses, make up and high heels and act out every offensive stereotype of women (bitchy, catty, dumb, slutty, etc.) - but it is not socially acceptable - as a form of entertainment - for a white person to put on blackface and act out offensive stereotypes of African Americans? Shouldn’t both be OK or neither?"

We all know that she has a valid point. The RuPaul Drag is the worst thing to ever happen to the Drag Community. The show is fixed, Over Weight DQ’s don’t stand a chance, they might make it to the top five but never to the top three.. It is fixed..

Prayers for Bobby- on lifetime- will you be watching

True story of Mary Griffith, gay rights crusader, whose teenage son committed suicide due to her religious intolerance. Based on the book of the same title by Leroy Aarons. This is set to air on Jan 24, 09 on lifetime.

In "Prayers for Bobby," Mary Griffith is a devout Christian who raises her children with the conservative teachings of the Presbyterian Church. However, when her son Bobby confides to his older brother he may be gay, life changes for the entire family after Mary learns about his secret. While Bobby's father and siblings slowly come to terms with his homosexuality, Mary believes God can cure him of what she considers his 'sin' and persuades Bobby to pray harder and seek solace in church activities in hopes of changing him. Desperate for his mother's approval, Bobby does what is asked of him, but through it all, the church's apparent disapproval of homosexuality causes him to grow increasingly withdrawn and depressed. Guilty over the pain he is causing Mary, Bobby moves away, yet hopes that some day his mother will accept him. His subsequent depression and self-loathing intensifies as he blames himself for not being the 'perfect' son and is driven to suicide. Faced with their tragedy, Mary begins to question her faith when she receives no answers from her pastor concerning her devastating loss. Through her long and emotional journey, Mary slowly reaches out to the gay community and discovers unexpected support from a very unlikely source. The film is based on the 1995 Leroy Aarons book of the same name. Written by Louie Neira

I look forward to watching this show, I have to wonder if mommy is portray in the right right light, as a Christan bigot who drove her son to kill himself, then only after his death does she get a damn heart.

New Bravo Reality Show About Fag Hags!

I just got wind of a new reality show Bravo is currently casting around town. It's all about fag hags, or as they're more properly called, Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys. That happens to be the name of the show and it's also the title of the compilation book it's based on. (As fagelah fate would have it, I happen to have written an essay in it. It's about how my BFFs were always women, and not just because the guys never wanted me on their team, as it were.)

Anyway, the show is about real life Will & Grace-type duos consisting of a male gay and a female gay-lover. So if you're a boy who likes boys and you're inseparable from a girl who likes boys who like boys, then this is your chance to be a major TV star and be watched by lots of boys and girls who like girls who like boys who like boys. Oy.

Ok really now, what the fuck does Bravo think they are doing? I would love to see them do a show about our community as a whole. Show us as everyday people who faces and deal with everyday life. Show our inaction with other gays and lesbians. Show how we handle our crisis and families rejections. Show us on our ground fighting for our rights. Show how our volunteerism raises us far above straight society. Show us raising our kids, and let our children then America how their families are just as important as any straight family.

Tell you want if bravo wants to film a true reality show, then brave should film congress….

SNT: HBO - LITTLE BRITAIN ANGERS GAY RIGHTS GROUPS

British comedy series LITTLE BRITAIN USA has sparked outrage in America - with a gay rights group calling the programme "offensive" and "obnoxious".

The sketch show, which stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, is a spin-off based on the original U.K. series and reportedly features male full-frontal nudity as well as a series of lesbian and gay gags. And the controversial content has angered officials at the West Hollywood Gay and Lesbian Alliance. A spokesman for the organization says, "This is the most politically incorrect, offensive and obnoxious material ever seen in this country."

A representative for U.S. TV network HBO, the channel that plans to screen the show from 28 September (08), claims officials will be taking note of any complaints about the material but insists that the series is about overcoming prejudices and leads the way in "edgy programming".

Ok West Hollywood Gays and Lesbians, you need to get a damn life. It's only a TV show, and I'm sure this isn't the only show that has picked on the gay and lesbian communities are it. No it's not, so just leave it alone. I have seen other Gay theme movies that show that make us look like freak, Creaks, and sexual Predators. Not many in our community protest these shows, so why are you guys attacking this one.

Second and more obviously, are the two quotes from gay activist groups which form the heart of the story. The organization behind the New York City gay pride parade is called "Heritage of Pride," not "New York Gay Pride." And the "West Hollywood Gay and Lesbian Alliance" simply does not exist at all. Furthermore, with 25 years (on and off) in the gay media business, I've never heard of either of the two supposed spokespersons, Gina Gallo and Irwin Blair (nor has Google, for that matter). I know the spokespeople for every prominent gay group in America (many of them personally), and either Gallo and Blair don't exist, or they beamed in from Mars in the last two weeks.

I personally don't have a problem with this show; I can't wait to watch it. I have watch and love the British version of the show. I don't think Rosie has a problem with it, if so why would she agree to be on the show. Face it no matter what Hollywood or other TV show companies do they will never

SNT: Queston of the Day, Did Will and Grace Show really Help the Gay Community

    * Will Truman (Eric McCormack)

A gay lawyer and longtime best friend of Grace. He has a very neurotic side, especially when it comes to cleaning. Several characters have commented that his relationship with Grace is more like a couple than that of two friends.

What is the stereotype here? A lonely depress gay male who can't get a date no matter what he does.  A Clean freak.


    * Grace Adler (Debra Messing)

An interior designer with an apparent obsession with food. Grace has been best friends with Will since college. They were a couple in the 1980s until Will realized he was gay after meeting his friend Jack.

What is the stereotype here? The Signal gal who has a crush on her gay best friend, who knows she can never have him and base all her relationship around him.


    * Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes)

One of Will's best friends, he is flamboyant and superficial. Jack drifts from boyfriend to boyfriend and job to job, including a struggling actor, retail associate and student nurse. Early on in the show he strikes up a close friendship with Karen.

What is the stereotype here? Basically a gay unemployed slut who want to be an actor with no brains.
