Once Again Eastern NC doesn’t Matter to Qnotes

After the Va Pilot did a story about the first even Outer Banks Pride Event, I thought that Q-notes would do a story on it well, just what, I WAS WRONG once again.

See some time back the Editor of Qnotes stated that it was a was of time and resources to include Eastern NC in their so-called Newspaper..

If this event was being held in Charlotte, they/Matt would have done a full page article about it. Made calls to the organizers the mayor and other community members living on the Outer Banks.

At last, the East is just a waste of time for Qnotes.. Once again, it was to hard for them to send out emails seeking more information, picking up the phone and calling the Town Mayor to see what he had to say about. I guess finger power is just to limited at Qnotes to fully cover a story here in the East…

Mr. Gay Canada has not run a full contest since 1990 when Dean Ryane won the title.  In 2006 I took up the brand again and started working on molding the competition and working with the organizers of International Mr. Gay.  In 2007 we appointed James Coburn to represent Canada in the International Mr. Gay and gained intelligence from the point of view from the delegate.  This year, 2008, we have been canvasing the nation looking for delegates to enter in the competition.  We actually had a "Bear" from the Yukon and another "Bear" from Winnipeg that both had to pull out of the competition for work related issues.  It is too bad as they would have been a great addition to this year's competition.

Again, we the organizers of MGC, are looking for delegates that will be the best ambassador for our community and help break down the negative sterotypes the media continues to engage.  It appears that the men that have the confidence to enter into this type of competition have similar looks.  We hope that next year we will have more diverse applicants to choose from.  Perhaps next year you will want to enter yourself?

Yet all the contestants are the usual stereotypes of the gay community.Tall handsome, well define body, great hair, basically saying if you don't look like us then you are nothing, not important, you don't count. If they were looking for someone to represent our community I have a few choice which I feel are better, Bruce Vilanch and Harvery Fierstein, but even these two great writers and actor, and activists don't fix this stereotype do they.

I'm sick of those in community telling others in our community that you must look and be and do as we or you are not apart of our community. Yet well want and are demanding equality from the str8 community while we don't even have equality in our own community. No wonder most of the country sees us a joke.

I have receive many email on this post, claiming that its open to all, Yes it may be open to all but everyone knows who and what types of bodies will be in the top ten.

If they want a gay male that can lead then face shot and boi's would be enough, there won't need to be a modeling (showing off ones body in a swim briefs) to pick one.

So I predict that all finialist will be under 40,with solid rock hard bodies, with and average waist size of  36, all over 5'5".

Looks as though this year’s Soulforce Equality Ride is going to face a little opposition. As I wrote back on August 9 and as I reported for Q-Notes on September 9, the 2008 Equality Ride will make a stop at the Columbia, S.C.-based Columbia International University on Oct. 6.


Coming up in the Sept. 20 issue of Q-Notes, you’ll get an answer to why there aren’t all that many native Southerners on this year’s Ride — which is focusing solely on Christian colleges and universities in the South.

This opposition group, SAFE, or Students Against False Equality, claims it will “respond to the false messages of equality being promoted on Christian college campuses by the Soulforce activist group Equality Riders.”

They plan on setting up “SAFE Learning Centers” in the libraries of those institutions visited by the Ride. In short, SAFE’s main purpose is to provide more blind hubris to the already faltering anti-gay and anti-Christ doctrines of radical Christianists. That’s basically it.

So I wonder how many will be arrested again, during this campaign ride.  In which part of pride and equality say it is ok to get arrested for one's cause. To have a criminal record for civil disobedience.

To tell the truth isn't this what the christian crusaders did in the past to all the other religions, with force. Just as they today can't force others to join their cult, the same can be said about ours. We need to face it there will always be those whom will hate us for being us, those that don't like us for their own reason, either personal or religious reasons.

Yes we can protest and march for equality but in truth does equality really exist anyway. How can equality exist among gays and str8, when equality doesn't exist between men and women.

SNT: Gay Pride Days

Black Gay Pride comes to the city in full force this weekend with dozens of celebrities to wow the estimated 75,000 people expected to pack the clubs for the annual fest, considered the largest event of its kind in the world.

Ok why must there be two sets of Gay Pride. Why must there be a black gay pride in every state that has a regular gay pride day. Why? I see even today our community is still divided over race. One would think that the Gay community would want unity not separation. This is why our community is facing all this discrimination, it would seem that the African-American still want separation to exist.

Then they are the first group to bitch and whine about being discriminate against. So Guys you can't have it both ways. It would seem that for every event we have there is a separate event solely for Blacks.
Take the MS World, USA, Universe beauty pageants, for each of these there is an all Black pageant. African-American want unity and separation at the same time. Why?
Then there is the all separate HIV/AIDS Groups. They feel the need to have their very own, Why?
