Fleet Week has officially been canceled for New York City.

The United States Navy says it will not send any ships next month and no additional sailors or Marines will head to the city for the annual Fleet Week celebration. Cuts to the defense budget under the sequester are being blamed. But a spokesperson says any Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard members who happen to be in the city will be allowed to take part in any local events that still take place. City officials say Fleet Week was expected to generate about $20 million. In a statement, the city said, "We understand the Navy’s budgetary limitations and hope that the Fleet Week tradition can continue in 2014."

The economy is in shambles. The war is costing billions. And the country is adjusting to a new president (thank God).
But what does a New York Congressman want to do?
Outlaw cell phone cameras that don’t make a clicking sound when you press the shutter.
The “Camera Phone Predator Alert Act” was introduced earlier this month by Pete King, a republican who believes too many children have been “exploited by photographs taken in dressing rooms and public places with the use of a camera phone”.
The bill makes no mention as to why children would be in a dressing with an adult stranger in the first place, but it would mean the children would hear a clicking sound when photographed by this stranger.

NYC man who claims cops sodomized him to sue

(New York City) A tattoo parlor employee who claims he was assaulted and sodomized by New York City police officers has filed papers to sue the city and the police department.

Michael Mineo says he was attacked Oct. 15 in a subway station. Officer Richard Kern was charged with aggravated sexual abuse and assault; fellow Officers Alex Cruz and Andrew Morales were charged with hindering prosecution and official misconduct for allegedly covering up the crime.

All three pleaded not guilty.

Mineo filed a notice of claim in the first step to filing a lawsuit against the city. He seeks $200 million in damages for permanent and severe injuries.

The city’s Law Department is reviewing the papers.

First off even he knows he want get that much, he will be lucky to get about 5 million if lucky after his blodd sucking lawyer gets 40% of what ever he is awarded.

New York Democrats Strike Deal; Same-Sex Marriage Vote Tossed

A big deal went down between Democrats in the New York Senate today forged by pressure from the so-called gang of three (Sen. Carl Kruger, Sen.-elect Pedro Espada Jr., and Sen. Ruben Diaz), and the likeliness of a same-sex marriage vote coming to pass in the next session of the legislature went down the tube as a result, even though the deal gives Democrats a solid majority.
The New York Daily News has the details.
And here's the unacceptable part:
"A bill to legalize same-sex marriage will not be brought to the floor of the Senate for a vote this year. Smith will announce that he does not believe the measure has sufficient votes to pass - a statement that is at this point undoubtedly true, although it's unclear how long that will last if, as Democrats are hoping, the prospect of being in the minority leads to mass GOP retirements."

See they only care for us when they need votes, all other times they are just like the damn Republicans

What is the difference between a Democrat and a Republican??

So, the Democrats in the New York State senate are thinking of backtracking on marriage. All I can say is, "go to Hell."

When they wanted our community's money and votes, they kissed our asses and made promises. It is essential that these promises are kept. It is unacceptable that they now hide behind the economy or political considerations and calculations.

What did you except, did you actually believe that the Democrats would do everything that they promise, if you did, then shame on you. The Democrats have been doing for decades, and act shock after each election.

Police Lieutenant in Taser Case Commits Suicide

A New York City police lieutenant who gave the order to fire a Taser stun gun at an emotionally disturbed man who then fell to his death in Brooklyn committed suicide early on Thursday, law enforcement officials said.

Lt. Michael W. Pigott, a 21-year veteran of the force, was found in a police locker room at a former airfield in Brooklyn, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, said Paul Browne, the police department’s deputy commissioner for public information. In a note found near the body, the lieutenant said he was concerned about his children seeing him charged with professional misconduct and did not want to disgrace his family, a police source said. Lieutenant Pigott had been placed on modified assignment without his gun and badge after he gave the order to a sergeant to fire the Taser at a Bedford-Stuyvesant man, Iman Morales, on Sept. 24.

SNT: NY Poster in the Subways ADS

A campaign by the New York City Transit Authority to address a very real problem has been shelved, at least temporarily, for fear it might encourage the very behavior it's warning against.

Anyone female (and yes, many male) regularly riding New York's subways can testify that rush-hour groping is a very real problem. Even if you're trying not to touch someone's backside or privates, it frequently is impossible in the sardine can-like conditions. So if you're someone who gets off on it, it becomes a golden opportunity.

The TA had ads that announced, "Rub up against me and I'll expose you," but put them because, reports The N.Y. Post, they fear they'd provoke deviant behavior.

But were they also afraid of the ads becoming the subject of ridicule? Worth asking.

No matter what this as and campaign are for women only, so they will feel free to report any male that accidently touch them while riding in a very pack full subway train. I'm willy to be that 98% of the complaints will be file by women. just another law to make men into the bad guy and to increase the state sexual offenders list.
