Model or Photographer making fun of Obese People

So over at the Socialite life, their male Model Monday, maybe a hottie, but a few shots are in very bad taste..

Now I would not find those same images in bad taste if the model was once that big (obese.) That they lost all the weight and they were showing that they once wore a shorts waist size 68 inches or more.

Really, does this model look like he was ever Obese. No.

I don’t blame the model, he is only modeling the clothes that was set out for him, either by the clothes company or the Photographer.

In this case I believe the shot to your left was the Photographer ideal. No Designer would ever do this( I hope they wouldn’t), it could give them a bad name.. I also think it was the Photographer since site didn’t list  (in the image meta file no photographer or copyright info)

UN demands investigation into photographer death

The United Nations has demanded that every possible effort be made to 'shed full light' on the death of a French photographer who died during the violence in Tunisia.
 

Photographer Lucas Mebrouk Dolega died on Monday from a head injury he sustained while covering street protests in Tunis on 14 January, according to press freedom organisation Reporters Without Borders.
Lucas, a photojournalist for the European Pressphoto Agency, was reportedly hit by a police teargas canister.

Outside of the mall, Kevin was stopped by a police constable who had received a complaint from mall security that a suspicious potential paedophile had been taking pictures on its premises. The PC threatened to arrest Kevin "for creating a public disturbance" and ordered him to delete the photo of his son. More than two thousand photographersdescended upon London’s Trafalgar Square this weekend to protest section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which was ruled unlawful by the European Court of Human Rights earlier this month.

As was predicted, UK police were on their best behavior during the protest as participants were able to photograph the square and themselves without incident. However, despite photographers having just one day free from harassment and the European Court of Human Rights’ ruling, Chief Constable Craig Mackey of the Association of Chief Police Officers said officers would continue to use stop and search powers while the court’s decision was appealed.

Be it here, in American or the UK, where there is a protest against the cops and the media cameras are there rolling of course the Cops will be on their best behavior. The can't show their true colors for the world to see.. However what will happen to these photographers in the days to come is the true question. Will the stops increase now, of course they will since big media cameras are not around. More photographers and tourists will be stop and harassed for taking photos.

Britain's terrorism laws were dealt a blow last week when the European Court of Human Rights ruled that stop-and-search powers under Section 44 of the Act were a breach of human rights.
The ruling came after lengthy legal fight by two people who were stopped and searched on their way to a London demonstration.
The court found that the "coercive powers" of the anti-terrorism legislation amounted to a clear interference with the right to respect for private life. The British government is appealing the decision, saying the powers are an important tool in the fight against terrorism.

Here's the problem I have with your interpretation of this event: Jon & Elaine Huguenin have appeared in numerous anti-gay causes (Yes On 8 webcasts for example) to the delight of Maggie Gallagher, Jim Garlow, Matt Barber, Focus On The Family, AFTAH. and hundreds of other anti-gay activists and bloggers. a ruling today by the New Mexico courts that upheld a decision by the state's Human Rights Commission which awarded lesbian Vanessa Willcock (insert snarky pun) $6,637.94 because Elane Photography refused to photograph Vanessa's commitment ceremony to Misty Pascottini on religious grounds.

In this class, this very in your face dyke didn't have a contract, she was searching for a photographer, once she was inform by this Christian photographer that she wouldn't be able to be their photographer, she stewed for a while and got mad because a Christian told her NO, she in turn file this stupid ass lawsuit to make a point. Lack of CCTV Coverage gets pub shut down

Can you imagine having the local Police Department close down you business for the lack of CCTV coverage..

PC Julie Stewart from the licensing department at Preston Police was due to visit the pub (The Skeffington Arms in Ribbleton Lane) yesterday and said she would re-open it if CCTV was working.
She said: "It's for public safety and their own safety to detect crime. The pub had minimal CCTV – it wasn't recording. If an incident had happened and we needed to get evidence and locate an offender, we couldn't have from there. Even the staff aren't safe in those conditions."

CCTV is very rarely a useful deterrent and has been shown on countless occasions to be equally poor when it comes to solving crimes.

Assistant commissioner John Yates issues reminder that no laws prevent people from photographing buildings yet the UK Police are either hard head or brainless,.. or they get their little nuts off by harassing people with cameras.. all under Section 44

Scotland Yard has told police officers there is "an enormous amount of concern" about the use of anti-terror laws against people taking photographs in the street.
In a circular to all Metropolitan borough commanders, John Yates, the assistant commissioner for specialist operations, advocated a "commonsense" approach and reminded officers there were no laws to stop people photographing buildings.
"Unless there is a very good reason, people taking photographs should not be stopped," wrote Yates, who is Britain's senior counter-terrorism officer.

Even the press over there gets harassed

There has been criticsm of alleged harassment of photographers. Last week the Guardian was stopped by police under section 44, after photographing the Gherkin building in the City to test how the law was being applied.

I call a local Photography supplies shop today and some dumb blond i'm sure, I call and asked it they had the Digital sensor cleaning Kit, she reply she didn't know what type of kit i was talking about.

Ok if you work in shop that sell camera and photography equipment and you don't know what a Digital Sensor cleaning kit is then you need to find another job. the owner need to get rid of this person. I can only guess that reason why she is there is to service his needs..

The economy is in shambles. The war is costing billions. And the country is adjusting to a new president (thank God).
But what does a New York Congressman want to do?
Outlaw cell phone cameras that don’t make a clicking sound when you press the shutter.
The “Camera Phone Predator Alert Act” was introduced earlier this month by Pete King, a republican who believes too many children have been “exploited by photographs taken in dressing rooms and public places with the use of a camera phone”.
The bill makes no mention as to why children would be in a dressing with an adult stranger in the first place, but it would mean the children would hear a clicking sound when photographed by this stranger.

State: It's Discrimination Photographer Refused to Shoot Gay Ceremony

The state Human Rights Commission ruled this week that an Albuquerque wedding photographer discriminated against her would-be client by refusing to shoot a same-sex commitment ceremony.
Vanessa Willock filed a civil complaint with the labor department's Human Rights Bureau in 2006, saying Elaine Huguenin, co-owner of Albuquerque's Elane Photography, told her in an e-mail that she only photographed "traditional" marriages and would not photograph same-sex ceremonies.
In an order issued Wednesday, a panel of commissioners ruled that Huguenin discriminated against Willock based on sexual orientation and ordered Elane Photography to pay Willock's attorney's fees of $6,637.93.
An attorney for Huguenin promised to appeal in state District Court, contending the commission violated Huguenin's constitutional rights to practice her religion.
Jordan Lorence, senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, said Huguenin declined the job because her and her husband's religious beliefs were in conflict with the ceremony's "message."
Willock, in an e-mailed statement issued through her attorney, said she was pleased with the ruling.
"I feel that it is an important decision towards defining the responsibilities of business when they offer their services to the public in this state," she said.
Lorence said the refusal "stemmed from the couple's evangelical Christian and ideological beliefs, and they didn't want to further a ceremony that defines marriage in a different way, just as Elane Photography would not want to photograph a polygamist wedding," he said. "This couple is free to have any ceremony they want, but they don't have the right to force unwilling people to participate in it."
Lorence represents a conservative religious organization that frequently enters court cases involving same-sex marriage, abortion and school prayer.
Until recently, Willock was an equal employment opportunity specialist with the University of New Mexico's Office of Equal Opportunity.
After considering the evidence, including e-mails, the Human Rights Bureau issued a determination of probable cause in June 2007, allowing the case to go before a panel of three of the state's 11 Human Rights Commissioners, all of whom are appointed by Gov. Bill Richardson.
State law prohibits discrimination based on sex, race, religion and sexual orientation in the areas of employment, housing, credit or public accommodation.
State law does not, however, recognize a marriage between two members of the same sex.
Francie Cordova, the bureau's labor relations director, said the case fell under public accommodation.
Although employment complaints are more common, she said, several public accommodation complaints are filed annually, typically when people feel they have been illegally denied service by a business.
This case was unique, she said, because Willock only sought a discrimination ruling and attorneys' fees.
"Normally, the complainant also asks for damages," she said.
Typically, a discrimination investigation takes about six months, Cordova said, but this case was delayed while a federal court considered a request from the defendant that it be removed from the commission's hands.
The court remanded the case to the commission early this year, she said, and hearings began in January.
The case drew considerable attention from right-leaning blogs and publications, like the Washington Times and the National Catholic Register.
Some Internet commentators cited the case as erosion of their religious freedom, while others suggested Huguenin could have handled the situation better to avoid running afoul of anti-discrimination laws.
"Had the photographer ... simply said 'I don't think I would be a good fit for your ceremony,' or even said she had other obligations, that would have been the end of it," New Mexico blogger SJ Reidhead wrote on her blog, thepinkflamingo.blogharbor.com, which she describes as Republican, Christian, pro-immigration and pro-Bush.
Julie Sakura, an attorney for Santa Fe-based law firm Lopez & Sakura who represented Willock, said the case should not be considered precedent-setting.
"This is an appropriate application of existing New Mexico law to the facts of this case," she said.

I know this is old but it deserves another look.

As an amateur photographer myself, I must said this law-suit was just plain stupid, this damn lesbian could have took her damn ceremony to another photographer. I think she want to make a damn statement.

However, it does bring up an interesting point. What if, a group from the KKK asked her to photograph one of their so-social events and refused, would this same commission find in their favor.

What if I was being interviewed to see if I would be willing to photograph a highly sexual event and I said no, and told them I don't do such work, would that give them the right to sue me. However if I signed a contract without reading what it was that I would be photographing then withdrew, then yes they would be in their rights to sue me for breach of contract.

WTF: Photographer Fined for Refusing to Shoot Commitment Ceremony

The New Mexico Human Rights Commission ruled in favor of Vanessa Willock, who in 2006 filed suit against photographer Elaine Huguenin for refusing to photograph her commitment ceremony because of her personal religious beliefs, the Associated Press reported.

In November 2006 Willock's partner, Misty Collinsworth, contacted Huguenin and - without mentioning the sex of the partners - inquired about services. Huguenin responded enthusiastically and sought to follow up.

On December 20, 2006, Willock filed a charge of discrimination against Elane Photography.

The decision included two questions: did discrimination occur based on sexual orientation, and was Elane Photography a public accommodation. The commission found the answer to both questions to be in the affirmative.

Elane's attorneys argued that Ms. Huguenin's religious convictions provided exclusion to the New Mexico Human Rights Act. The commission found that questions of the constitutionality of the NMHRA was "not before the New Mexico Human Rights Commission for determination in this proceeding and, accordingly, are not addressed here.

Then there is this:

Willock filed a complaint, and at the hearing she explained how she felt."A variety of emotions," she said, holding back tears. "There was a shock and anger and fear. . . . We were planning a very happy day for us, and we're being met with hatred. That's how it felt."

WE are tired that the others try to force us to comply with their ways, and here we are doing the fucking same. I can only hope that Willock and her bitch break up very soon..
