SNT: "shocking" Governor Schwarzenegger Vetoes Harvey Milk Day,

This week, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill which would have made Milk's birthday a state-wide "day of significance."

Milk was the United States first openly gay man to hold a public office and was murdered, along with San Francisco mayor George Mascone, in 1978. Conservative groups pressured the governor to employ his veto power.

Schwarzenegger said he respected the intent of the bill, but "contributions should continue to be recognized at the local level."

This shock you how? Please everyone knew that sorry SOB wasn't going to sign it in to law. I remember the rumors about Arnold being gay and having a sugar daddy in the USA when he first came to the States. I'm just so glad that he isn't a natural born citizen, and because of this he can never be President of the USA. Then again there is this: Schwarzenegger is shown smoking a marijuana joint after winning Mr. Olympia in the 1975 documentary film Pumping Iron. In October 2007, Schwarzenegger defended his actions with the claim that, "[Cannabis] is not a drug. It's a leaf." Yet if there was a bill to legalize Cannabis, i bet he would veto it too.

To Anonymous

To Anonymous from CA, after this is posted this will the last about Prop 8 in CA. I posted a something that I agreed with; it wasn't to start a debate on the subject at all. It seems that you feel very strongly on this matter. I don't feel that Marriage should be our main goal at this time. There are many other issues that we need to resolve before going down that path. I'm glad that you were able to marriage your partner, but you can and I sure you will still face discrimination on many fronts.

We need are basic rights taken care of first. Those are the rights that everyone has. We need to make sure that when we are victims of crimes that those crimes are fully investigated and those who committed the crimes are held responsible for their actions. To have the right to serve and protect our county.

Once these issues are taken care of then Yes lets fight for our right to marry. We need to fight for this right on the Federal Level not the state level, and if we do it on the state level then it should be by a vote. The people of each state need to have their say on this matter. We don't need for these Activist Judges making laws for us, that we didn't have a said in. It will have to be by law that makes this happen. The People need to have their say in all legal matters.

Just because your marriage may be legal in CA, MA, NY and Canada, wouldn't it be nice if it was legal in all fifty states, so when you travel within the US how many Hospitals and other state agencies will allow you or extend you the same rights as straight married couples.

Music Video John Barrowman's What about us

FW: [Sick -N- Tired] New comment on FW: [Sick -N- Tired] New comment on SNT from Mr An....

Ok did I ask about your holiday or your husband, NO, I didn't, Tell me this Does the Federal Gov't of the US recognized your marriage? Does it? Please allow me to answer for you, NO IT DOESN'T , and you guys still can't file joint tax return as well.

I so glad you were able to save a few pounds, and euros on your vacation, but one question, if your marriage is so recognized in other countries then why do you have to travel with your marriage certificate? I don't know many married couples taking their marriage certificate with them on vacation. I guess you did just in case they didn't believe  you.. Right!!!!

I will scream it anytime and anywhere  I want, we don't need to be pushing this on the people, So what will happen to  your marriage if the people over turn what the courts gave  you.

So please each time you travel make sure you don't for  your certificate, since  you are unable to have your marriage listed on your passport, to prove you are marry just to a few discounts on your rooms, food and cab fare.

Oh dear. I see we're using our caps lock key now. Well that's certainly going to help bolster an otherwise shaky argument.

It's funny you say that my marriage doesn't exist outside the state, because of course it is recognized by the states of Massachusetts and New York, and by various other countries, including Canada, where my partner has dual citizenship. In fact, at a much more individual level, recognition of our marriage even saved us money during our vacation to Europe this summer: At the car rental counter, I asked the man doing the paperwork why there was an extra 100 euro charge on the agreement. He said it was an unrelated co-driver charge, at which point I pulled out a copy of our marriage certificate and showed him that in-fact we were related. He puzzled a bit over the English in the document, but then was more than happy to remove the extra surcharge.

Now admittedly it's a small triumph when taken by itself. But that's how these things happen, little by little. So while you're busy screaming it's "JUST A WASTE OF TIME", I'm looking around and seeing things changing for the better.

Police Lieutenant in Taser Case Commits Suicide

A New York City police lieutenant who gave the order to fire a Taser stun gun at an emotionally disturbed man who then fell to his death in Brooklyn committed suicide early on Thursday, law enforcement officials said.

Lt. Michael W. Pigott, a 21-year veteran of the force, was found in a police locker room at a former airfield in Brooklyn, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, said Paul Browne, the police department’s deputy commissioner for public information. In a note found near the body, the lieutenant said he was concerned about his children seeing him charged with professional misconduct and did not want to disgrace his family, a police source said. Lieutenant Pigott had been placed on modified assignment without his gun and badge after he gave the order to a sergeant to fire the Taser at a Bedford-Stuyvesant man, Iman Morales, on Sept. 24.
