then after I check WRAL Marriage Poll, I post another comment stating maybe things in NC are getting better, that more folk have voted no for the Amendment against same-sex marriage.

Michael has made some excellent points. I just wish to repeat that I am sure that the LGBT center in NYC is not so strapped for cash that it needs to rent out space to non-LBGT oriented organizations. Certainly there are other venues for this organization. It has no place at the center and I very happy that they decided not to have it there.

Well Mark, just maybe the center does need to rent out their halls and dance floors, to help make ends meet.. Since the Fucking community isn’t supporting the center like the fucking should.
 
Hell the fucking community can’t even support their own business, unless it a bar, or a adult book where they can get their dicks suck off in the back rooms..
 
Just look all over the country almost all the LGBT Bookstores are closed or in the process of closing. Why one might ask? Because we rather shop on line for those cheap ass books, new and used, instead of supporting our local LGBT business.
 
Then, when you hear that they are closing a once great social meeting bookstore, then you ask why, how could this happen?
 
Easy because we fail to support them. Period.
 
Recently in my area the local White Rabbit bookstore in Raleigh closed, their store in Charlotte is still open but for how long. Every time I visit Raleigh I would stop by the White Rabbit, often spending over two hundred dollars. I only wish I lived closer, so I could have supported more.  The folks there always went way beyond normal service. They were also polite, friendly  and had time to talk with you.
 
So Mark that is why they might have the need to rent out space for non-lgbt events.

Comments to a Blogger’s Post

When one blogs, one must accept what he or she writes about, just might receives some comments that the writer won’t like.

If one chose to write about state politics and budgets problems, they must accept that someone else’s view will not be the same as theirs. The think otherwise would be completely stupid and wishful thinking.

Recently a young blogger, who hails for Charlotte NC, wrote a nice piece about the current budget issue that NC faces. Title “Still no jobs, but no anti-gay legislation either.” Now I’m glad that NC Legislature doesn’t have any anti-gay bill as of yet. Yet, the cuts they are planning are just unbelievable to me and I’m sure to many other.

Budget cuts is one reason why we are ranking so low in education,
However it’s nice to know Bev Perdue might not win in the next election, as a Dem Governor she the worst.

I was trying to point out that they plan a huge cut the education, and I was wondering why he didn’t mention this.

I will agree that lately I have become very cynical and critical of my community. I feel that we have lost who and what we truly are. In order to please those who will donate money to our organizations and cause. We are allowing them to set the stage for all to play by. This is wrong, period. Those that won’t play by their rules are casted out like yesterday’s newspapers. We are using tactics that we normal would never use in the past.

I can only hope that every Christian or those who support prop8 goes in search for gay business owners in the printing, photography, and other area and ask them to do work for them.. Here's the problem I have with your interpretation of this event: Jon & Elaine Huguenin have appeared in numerous anti-gay causes (Yes On 8 webcasts for example) to the delight of Maggie Gallagher, Jim Garlow, Matt Barber, Focus On The Family, AFTAH. and hundreds of other anti-gay activists and bloggers. In fact, it was them who hired the Alliance Defense Fund... so the notion that these were poor christian photographers being bullied by militant lesbians is implausible.
The day ADF was hired was the day this stopped being about photographing a wedding and $7,000 dollars.

Yet everytime something happens to us, we run to our gay national groups for help, this is Ok for us, but not our counterparts, Just had Jaded have we become.

Ms Cow Lesbian was searching for a photography, whom should have everything to turn down any business that she wants. going by your twist logic, then Lambda  Legal has the take every case a LGBT person asked, yet they don't, they only take cases where they can get national or state wide coverage.

This Cow was looking for a headline story, to cry i was discriminate against because I'm a carpet munching lesbian. I bet she did fine someone to take pictures of her damn event...

These Gala are nothing more then a money machine, for HRC, who doesn't want us to win Equality, in marriage or in the military because if we do they (joe) will be out of a job..

Yes I guess it couldbe, like telling how as community we fucking everything up. We are not the true bigots, we are the new antti-hate everyone who doesn't agree with us, if you speak out against us, we will make sure you lose your job, the list goes on and on.

HRC is nothing more then a money making scheme Face it, he we would wake up tomorrow and have every right we always want, what would GLAAD, HRC and other groups do, it would mean they would be out of a job..

First off I have never been a great fan of Out Mag, to me this mag is a complete waste of time, its buys into every sterotype our community have. It marginalize many in our community as well.

As four Hughes, like I could care. Just because he help to get another backstabbing president in office doesn't mean I have to like him or write about him. If he didn't help with the Obama election I bet his ass wouldn't have been in Out's 100.

I will never understand why many LGBT groups and Mags do these type of lists. What purpose  do they really serve? Just another way to make so many with in our community feel like they are nothing, they don't matter or count, unless you are well known, and rich. Just as many of our LGBT Gala's serve to keep many out.

NC Counter Protest, and Comment

Ok first off I was trying to be funny when I wrote the boxer comment, However I do welcome some help and every now and then, and thanks your comments and your Corrective Criticism.


With that, said let's talk about the NC4Marriage Rally that will be happening the 3^rd of March. I wrote about this on face book and some blogs that we should do a counter protest, one person agree and wrote it on Queers United blog.

Please join/help SickNTired to mount a protest or counter-protest at the North Carolina state capitol building! "We" all around the world need your warm body and shoes in the streets to demonstrate that "we" are not afraid, and "we" will not be going back, and "we" will continue to move forward no matter what our self-declared enemies do or say. The point of no return has been passed, het supremacists and het exclusivists. "We're" not going to take it any more.

I have notice that our local leaders and community blogger are not supporting this protest; I would have to wonder why. Even our local LGBT papers are not supporting this Protest. I found out that I wasn't the first to post this event on Facebook, I was the second. Event one, event two. One community leader wrote that they felt we would not be able to get enough to make a impact, well how nice we did get enough to create an impact for Prop 8 in CA, but we can't here at home for something that will effect us… Once again proving my point if you don't live in CA, DC, FL, NY, WA you just don't matter to the rest of the LGBT Community, but they want you support on everything that effects them.


The Equality NC group wants up to show up for Action Day. Which is ok as well?


I feel that many local leaders wants this on the ballot for the voters to choose, so they can mount a campaign fund raisers, to help collect money for their groups and themselves..


I plan to be there, for one I want to photograph these bigots, but I hope that my LGBT family in Raleigh will show to protest..

When I said that we would soon to be enslave, I wasn't talking about our pass slavery type. I wasn't talking about forcing people to do manual labor. I was talking about economic class. There are three types of these class, Capitalism, socialism, and communism, we here in the US, work and play under the Capitalism flag, while Russia was once a Communism is more a Socialism country now while China is more a Communism country.


This is what I was talking about, when I said we would be enslaved. Those who are free shall be enslaved while those who are enslaved shall be free.


Let's look at these Classes shall we,

In a "capitalist state", private rights and property relations are protected by the rule of law of a limited regulatory framework. In the modern capitalist state, legislative action is confined to defining and enforcing the basic rules of the market, though the state may provide some public goods and infrastructure.


Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating public or state ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equal opportunities for all individuals, with a fair or egalitarian method of compensation. Modern socialism originated in the late 19th-century working class political movement that criticized the effects of industrialization and private ownership on society. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution, and would represent a transitional stage between capitalism and communism.


Communism is a socioeconomic structure and political ideology that promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership and control of the means of production and property in general. Karl Marx posited that communism would be the final stage in human society, which would be achieved through a proletarian revolution. So we are a Capital country whom is slowly becoming a Socialism one, yes our own government is taking more control of our businesses and personal rights. While a few communist countries have become socialism ones and a one or two is now capitalism ones.


This is what I was talking about, but since some have thought I was talking about a past version of slavery it could also fix in today's world as well, Since every race at some point in history as been slave to another race and it own race. This is true, but to be enslave have mean other things as well.

We need to more to a classless society where everyone is equal.


But since we live in world where everyone is judge on who there are, their name, looks, and social class it has become the norm that everyone play into these.


On the point of the blog post Hate crimes, I just want you to think of this,

The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously found that hate crime statutes, which criminalize bias-motivated speech or symbolic speech conflict with free speech rights because they isolated certain words based on their content or viewpoint. Some have argued hate crime laws bring the law into disrepute and further divide society, as groups apply to have their critics silenced. Some have argued that if it is true that all violent crimes are the result of the perpetrator's contempt for the victim, then all crimes are hate crimes. Thus, if there is no alternate rationale for prosecuting some people more harshly for the same crime based on who the victim is, then different defendants are treated unequally under the law, which violates the United States Constitution. To try to isolate motivation in cases such as rape and murder to fit into one of two categories is ridiculous. The victims in either case suffer the same result. To legislate different penalties based upon a changing definition of what constitutes hate criminalizes thought and not actions. In a free society, one's thoughts and ideas should be protected even if they offend the sensitivities of other groups. It's when a physical crime is perpetrated, regardless of the motivation, that the same punishment should be enforced.

HRC Carolinas also offers those with limited income to apply for the "Dinner Fellowship" to attend the Gala. The Gala committee strives to involve populations in this annual HRC fundraiser, regardless of level of income and other differences, and offers a limited number of fellowships to those individuals that demonstrate need and would not otherwise be able to attend the dinner without financial assistance. Those receiving the fellowship can attend the Gala dinner at a reduced dinner ticket price.

However I feel if this was true they would have located this information on the ticket page. I can only guess that NC HRC doesn't want people to know that they would give a LIMITED NUMBER OF these tickets out.

The "Emerging Leader Dinner Scholarship" provides dedicated monies from the 2009 Gala committee to encourage 18-25 year-old North Carolina and South Carolina residents to attend the dinner as guests of HRC. HRC Carolinas desires to involve individuals from this age group to encourage their participation as supporters and leaders of future HRC events in NC and SC. As a scholarship recipient, you will receive a free ticket to the dinner and you are asked to provide volunteer support at the Convention Center the day of the Gala dinner. Also, you will be eligible for an opportunity to attend training at HRC national headquarters.

Holy shit, if you are a scholarship recipient you get a free ticket, and you are ask to work as a volunteer, at the the Gala, I can only guess they need a lot of cater-waiters..Better yet maybe then need more hat and coat checkers. Ok I would volunteer for that so I could try on their Fur coats while they are eating

All I can say is when Equality NC Held their Gala they put all ticket prices information on the ticket page. Unlike NC HRC where they hid it on a scholarship page where most would think you would find information on applying for a Scholarship, not reduce tickets. This is call being organize not sneaky.

This is why they need so much money, that damn overhead..

Gas, hotel rooms, food, drink, dinner tickets, tuxedos, taxi fares, limo and executive car rentals. The Gala committee spends plenty of cash on the Gala production itself, decorations and convention center and hotel fees.

Ok Why would they need limos for, please they can rent about three cars for the price of one limo.

Also why keep going to a city where the Mayor won't even welcome you to the city.

Every year the Human Rights Campaign rolls into Charlotte for its annual Gala dinner. With the more than 1,000 dinner attendees (one year it topped 1,400), comes an exchange of, literally, millions of dollars.

Why Can't the NC HRC hold this Gala in other cities around NC? This could explain why the LGBT community east of 95 feels so left out and not apart of the NC LGBT community. I know I was shock to heard that Equality NC was holding an Event in my town Rocky Mount, even though it's on school Bullying.

What about the rest of the state, those who live in rural towns east of Rocky Mount. I can only guess those LGBT member who live in cities and town like Greenville, Elizabeth City, the Outer Banks, and all point in between doesn't matter, only those who live Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Statesville, Greenboro, and Charlotte, which is where the well off live and work. Those who can give those very large donations.

SNT: Rocky Mount FAcebook protest Cancel

Its sad that I must say that I have cancel this event. Mostly due to lack of interest, It seem that we can gather  in number to show our support for our sisters and brothers in CA, but we can't manage to do this our own back yard. So I guess this year if the folks/bigots of NC4Marriage win, then I guess we will find our anger and do some thing about.

So we will allow this group to bus in protesters while we do thing at all. I contact to people in the Raleigh area, One said that we should have a counter protest, one another thinks we would not be able to to get the numbers need to make it a success. Yet we got the numbers to show support for LGBT community in CA, we get the numbers for a yearly pride marches, but now it seem when the Marriage is now in our own state we are doing nothing.

Instead we are ask to show up on March the 24th for the NC Lobby day in Raleigh, to educate our lawmakers, who still have the mind set of Jessie Helms.

So since I cancel my protest I will be there for a while just to see if any one will show.

However I do plan to be in Raleigh on the 3rd to watch this group trash and bash us as Pedophiles, and etc..

This is why Domestic Partnerships lacks the equalizer that Marriage would give us. This is why we need Marriage, nothing less will give us equal rights. The volunteer woman's spouse should have been able to go into the shopping area earlier without any questions or snotty remarks. This isn't a shopping bitch session, I think it's a real example of wrong doing on the Kids X side. Which they thought so too in the end since they've changed the policy. Second Class Citizens

We have every right that Str8's have with the exception of marriage. Ok, there few more but in truth Marriage is the only thing. We can serve in the military if we stay in the closet or keep our mouths shut.

Adoptions, face there are many str8 single people can't adopt, so are they second class, no they are not.

Ok Sean, first off the courts gave member of the LGBT community in CA to right to married, because of a loophole... The People of CA got an prop on the ballot for the PEOPLE to vote on. Which is a right of every Citizen in the US, The right to vote or member of congress and other elected offices. The PEOPLE had Voted and the Prop 8 Pass. basically allowing the People to have and to excrise their rights under law. The Can and did Vote for it. Now the CA courts is trying ot find another loophole to over turn it.

I have this Were was all this support to make sure DOMA didn't pass, Congress. Where was all this money when we need if to Stop DOMA?? Try actually looking at some facts, then tell me your annihilation tactics are just.

First off how about you reading what I have written on the subject, First Off I think its wrong for my community to single out only the Mormons church, (LDS)If we are going to protest churches that supported and gave money to Yes on 8 then we need to protest them all. The LGBT community is only targeting White majority churches, because if we protest those where the majority are African American, others will claim that we are being racist.

Either we protest all the churches and pastors who were against us, or we leave the damn Mormons the hell alone...

What's with the 'we' crap? As far as 'we' can tell, you aren't protesting anything.

If I could I would love to travel CA to see the LGBT is making fools of themselves, by protesting only one church who gave money to Yes on 8, What about all the other chuches in CA, who gave money or those whom spoke out for this prop? Are you protesting them, all I seem to hear about is LDS, like the Mormons   where the only one against gay marriage.

so next time Mr Anonymous when you gets some balls, why don't you use your real name..

So 7 out of 10 African American voted yes on Prop 8. Does that mean you will be protesting outside the Black Churches as well? Oh wait, isn't that racist in your PC world?

First off Rex if you have read any of this blog you would know I'm not PC, and if my local African-American churches did give money to Yes on 8 then I would expect that my local lgbt community to protest that church.

Just to single out the LDS churches are just wrong, However I have notice that my local LGBT community isn't protesting at the local LDS Churches in my local area.
