RALEIGH — Less than a penny per can of beer — that’s the effect of North Carolina’s new alcohol excise tax on malt beverages, set to begin Sept. 1.
While wine drinkers will have to cough up an extra 4 cents per bottle and liquor fans an additional 5 percent per drink starting next month, the question remains as to whether the miniscule alcohol tax increases will bring any true benefits to the Tar Heel state, where alcohol-related health care costs total more than $1 billion per year.
While only 3 cities in North Carolina have passed resolutions in favor of same-sex marriage, County Commissioners in at least 15 counties and one town have passed resolutions in favor of a Marriage Protection Amendment that would prohibit same-sex marriage.
County Commissioners in the following counties have passed Resolutions calling for the General Assembly to approve legislation submitting a proposal to the qualified voters of the State for adoption of an Amendment to the North Carolina Constitution stating: "Marriage between a man and a woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or enforceable in this State."
The following towns have passed the Resolution:
This is very shocking to said the least.. We need to organizes LGBT groups in every County and City, and Town..
We must act, We must watch our City Councils and our County Commissioners Meeting. Once this type of Resolution get placed on their Agenda We must act, We must speak out, We must let our Community Know so we can Fight this .

We are proud to announce the formation of a new campaign for photographers’ rights – I’m a Photographer, Not a Terrorist!
Photography is under attack. Across the country anyone with a camera is targeted as a potential terrorist. This campaign is for everyone who values visual imagery and press freedom.
This campaign will co-ordinate a collective response to the restrictions on photography across the country. We will be organising events where photography is restricted to show how pointless these restrictions are. It will also be an information resource for photographers’ rights and will map areas where photography is restricted.
Come to the launch party for this new campaign on Saturday the 8th of August at The Foundry in East London from 6pm till late. We’ll have:
* Good Cop – Bad Cop slideshow
* Interactive self portrait photo-booth
* Screening of a ‘Silly Season’ slideshow and other delights at 8pm
* And a guest appearance from the ‘Hackney Secular Singers’
Very interesting statement, which I'm sure the #transinc community will claim to be Transphobic.. in natural. There is nothing bias ...
