Snow in my little corner of NC

Bill James's Bigot Comments via Qnotes

I will never under why the LGBT community gets so upset when a bigot elected official writes an email and degrades the community.

When the community is made aware of such degrading actions its gets outraged and start calling for the removal of the official. Most of the time, this so-called outrage goes statewide and depending just who the elected official is, sometime its goes national.

The most recent soon to be outrage in NC is from an elected official from the Anti-gay, Republican Mecklenburg County Commissioner Bill James, which by some counts, this is the first time. Just what was said, to whom was it said/written too, and most important just who released it to the media?

James’ remarks were made in response to County Commissioner Chair Jennifer Roberts’ request to send a letter thanking some members of the Charlotte-area congressional delegation for their “yes” votes on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) repeal this month. Roberts was to send the letter to U.S. Reps. Larry Kissell and Mel Watt and U.S. Sens. Richard Burr and Kay Hagan. President Barack Obama last week signed the repeal act into law.

So what did James write that will get this outrage going?

“Homosexuals are sexual predators,” James wrote in one email from string of three between county board members, Roberts and County Manager Harry Jones, and provided by James to Qnotes. “Allowing homosexuals to serve in the US military with the endorsement of the Mecklenburg County Commission ignores a host of serious problems related to maintaining US military readiness and effectiveness not the least of which is the current Democrat plan to allow homosexuals (male and female) to share showers with those they are attracted to.”

James added, “The US Government would not allow Hetero men and women to share showers and other personal facilities yet the leading homosexual in Congress (Barney Frank) thinks it is OK for homosexuals to do so allowing enlisted men and women to fall prey to higher ranking or more powerful homosexuals who ogle them (or worse).”

First off, James must love attention, if he willing did send a copy of or cc Q-notes in said email. If he is seeking attention, then why is Qnotes encouraging him in these matters? His comments are nothing new. We have heard all them before in many different contexts, on myriads of issues.

So the local community of Mecklenburg County knows what type of bigot they have elected to represent them on the county board. Even though his slur and derogatory language is known to all, then why get upset when it happen. Instead of getting upset every time he calls us a derogatory name, why not just ignore him and stop giving him a platform to spew his hate and stupidity? Also why not lead a community wide campaign to oust him from office. Find a LGBT community friendly candidate to run against him in the next election. Then get the community to fully support that candidate 100%.

If the local community is so outrage at these comment but don’t do an effing thing, then they need to stop the bitching and deal with.

Just maybe the community should and will do something about this bigot. Since, he has been in communication with the new Republican leaders of the North Carolinas state legislature.

We all know what some of the Issues that James has been talking over with them. Just how many of these will come to light and be pass in the upcoming year.

I’m sure as I’m breathing that the anti-Marriage bill will come up for a hearing or two. Other issues like Domestic partnership, adoptions, and just maybe Hospital rights once again.

So let see, what will our community face this upcoming year? How many anti-gay bills will be voted on in the New Year? How many supporters will we gain or lose?

What is / Who is a media Whore

What is?

1.     A person who has a psychological need to get into TV, Film, Radio or Print.

2.     A person who becomes aroused almost sexually by seeing or hearing themselves or about themselves in the media.

Who is?

For the most recent one please check the following, Joe my God, Towleroad, Pams’ house.. He story is  those and many more other blogs by now….

My breakdown was a result of a cumulative array of stressors but there is no doubt that the composite betrayals felt on Thursday, by elected leaders and gay organizations as well as many who have exploited my name for their marketing purposes have added to the result. I am certain my experience is not an isolated incident within the gay veteran community.

Food for Thought

The homeless go without food. The elderly go without medicine. The mentally ill go without treatment. Troops go without proper equipment. Veterans go without benefits that were promised to them. Yet we give billions in tax breaks to the wealthiest 2% of Americans --- those who need it the least.

Pam see the light concerning HRC, well Joe anyway

Who would have thought that after having major surgery, that Pam would see the light about Joe Solmonese the head of HRC.. So insightful that even David Mixner loves her piece..

"It's time for the Human Rights Campaign's Joe Solmonese to tender his resignation.

By any sane performance metrics, he has failed to successfully lead. Promises like those made in the "This year we are going to bring down DADT" video at the HRC Carolina's dinner on Feb. 27 were used to extract money from low-info, fat wallet attendees. It's rinse and repeat at events like that around the country and there is precious little to show for it in terms of the major promises made by Solmonese -- and this President

I'm also glad that she finally prove/agree that these HRC dinners are used to extract money from the Rich Fat Cats, like David Mixner and others..
Joe Solmonese should do the honorable thing and step down. It is shameful to cash all those checks without the follow through on the job. The White House was never put under serious pressure; the late calls now in the e-blasts for the President to do something ring hollow after the toadying that has gone on for two years."
Pam how else will he gets his huge pay check?

She even ask the follow,
It is not divisive to ask what have we gotten for the $80 million that flowed into the coffers of the Human Rights Campaign when it comes to leadership. Those funds -- were they effectively used to ensure promised action on by this President on his major promises?
Well we have gotta a few fancy dinners and PSA and some nice gift with HRC logo on them. However Joe has gotta alot more, hundreds of first class fights all over the world, limos and lets not forget his almost 1/3 of million dollar yearly pay.. and those of the things what we know of..

Lets not forget that he was ready to throw the Trans-community under the bus if it would get ENDA pass, Remember they protest the HRC dinner that was held in Charlotte a few years back

Ms Pam has a point on this one.
In any case, critics haven't any power to change the strategic vision (such as it is), within HRC, and if those in charge simply blow off any criticism, is the community expected to sit silent with hands politely folded? There certainly hasn't been a private summit to discuss the myriad problems that have arisen, nor does there appear to be any feedback mechanism desired. I don't expect that it would occur, anyway, given the bunker mentality in place.
and her best advice yet,
And as far as calls for accountability for new media/bloggers/citizen activists? Hey, that's easy -- people won't read what doesn't interest them, and our voices are limited by time -- we're not news services. As we all know here at the Blend, all it takes is a health issue to take me offline for a good long while. Voices will come and go.
Pam knows that her voice/blog is heard/read around the world... Maybe this will get some stuff moving in the right direction..

However I would like to see Pam Support her local LGBT community a bit more. Even if she doesn't agree, she could still let others know through her blog, the "what, where, when, and how."

Do you have a single positive or non-jaded bone in your body?

Yes this is what a certain young guy ask me on Facebook. I comment that a LA porn Star was bitching and whining for catching a few STD's. Because he choose to work in this field.. Its not like STD's are new. He chose to work in porn, he thought that since he had a nice body and nice size cock, that this was the way to many some easy money..

Now he wants to play stupid, I guess he slept through school and while he was surfing the net.
The 24-year-old worked as a hotel manager and cruise ship magician before becoming a performer in the lucrative porn industry.
He now said he wishes he had known more about the risks of contracting sexually transmitted diseases in the industry.

He chose to have sex for money without a condom. That right, he chose to do it and now he acts like a damn victim..

I can guess the fast cash and a quick nut over rule his head..
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that porn star Derrick Burts, who recently tested positive for HIV, is urging the industry to make condom use mandatory. The 24-year-old actor accepts roles in both straight

and gay films. Burts has a girlfriend, but insists that he contracted the disease during a shoot for an adult film. Burts works under the names of Cameron Reid for his straight porn roles and Derek Chambers for his gay films. Currently the porn industry discourages the use of condoms for monetary reasons. Porn with condoms just doesn't sell as well.

Mr Derrick just who gave you what and when, was it the women or the men...

So which producer force you to do it?

Now he wants to blame the porn business.. He could have said no, not with a condom.

What a Message to read

This past weekend I went with my niece to her Cheer leading Competition in Tennessee. This used to be the Premier Cup, this year UCA/UDA Competition. I don't know whom was responsible for the planning of this event, but they did a very poor job, Less food vendors and clothes vendors, and no intermission performance, and nothing for the smaller kids to do..

They didn't want you to take your own photographs or video.. the reason they gave was for privacy concern. HELLO, this was a public event,, however I'm glad to see that no one followed the above announcement at all. I know I didn't, I took photographs of my niece's group both days..

Christians up in arms over Death Sentence

American Christians are mad as hell that a couple of Christians in Muslim countries have been convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to death. Conveniently, they forget their own religion’s history of just that. And some of ‘em are secretly salivating, wishing like hell the U.S. Constitution was a little more like Sharia law, only for Christians. After all, isn’t that what they mean when they say this is a Christian country? And forget that “Judeo” crap they tack on sometimes. Why, down in Texas, where Real Christians run the show, a bigwig named John Cook is gonna make sure that Jew boy who’s the House speaker loses his job. But it’s not because he’s anti-Semitic, mind you. And it’s not about Joe Strauss’ religion. It’s because Christian conservatives “do the best job over all.”

Another LGBT Bookstore Closed (due to lack of Suppot from the Community)

The shop, which caters to lesbian, gay and transgender customers, sells books, DVDs, gifts and other items. White Rabbit has been open in downtown Raleigh for more than 22 years, mostly on Martin Street. In January, the store moved to a new location on West Hargett Street, just below the new residential development Hue.

White Rabbit is closed as of today. Most of the merchandise will be moved to the company's Charlotte store, which is still in operation.

Read more: http://blogs.newsobserver.com/

The owner Mr. Yarbrough blames the economy and moving to the Hue Building for the closure. Yet we know why they close..

I always visit this store every time I visited Raleigh usually spending close to hundred dollars, the last time it was over $300 dollars, when I place an order for a Collector set of DVD's of Queer as Folks, other times it was to buy magizines like RFD and few others that couldn't be found at the local Books of Million.

One would have thought that being on the same block with CC's, Legends, and Our Place, it would be doing great business even if the other shops haven't open yet. However once again we have proven that we simply don't care about our local lgbt shops and business; till they are gone. Then we ask why, what could we have done? You the answer to those questions that don't you.

We do everything online, buy, sell and order food, and in some cases find a sex partner for the nite.

However I see that Our Place is still open, after all the fines and so. I guess it ok to drop 10 dollars to go in the backroom to get some oral service done, yet no one could walk cross the street and up half a block to visit the White Rabbit..

I'm sorry to see the Rabbit gone from Raleigh, I hope they will come back one... I wish them the best in Charlotte..

Today's Quote

The only way we'll have real pride is when we demand recognition of a culture that isn't just sexual. It's all there - all through history we've been there; but we have to claim it, and identify who was in it, and articulate what's in our minds and hearts and all our creative contributions to this earth.

Something toThink about

-An Army Guy  writing to Sgt. Jon H. at Camp Polk, Louisiana, Nov 2, 1944

Gawd, the place is mad. Drinks, eats, song, apartments, cars, girls, boys, boy-girls, girl-boys, bitch, butch - heavenly days, McGee!

I hope that Radclyffe Hall will one day write about a Lesbian who is not tragic, as I hope to do a portrait of  a man homo who is perfectly, or at least fairly, well adjusted to life. Don't you think the tragic and lonely aspects have been too much emphasized? Soon there will be no question about normal or abnormal people. One will merely write or individuals who fall in love in different ways, and the rigid conception of man and woman will melt away into something more fluid.

Will NC be the Marriage WarZone in 2011

So Will the Marriage fight come to North Carolina in 2011? I believe it will and our community isn't really for said fight at all. We haven't done enough on this issue.

North Carolina recognizes neither same-sex marriages nor any other form of legal recognition of same sex-unions. The state bans same-sex marriage, though there is no constitutional amendment implanted at this time. However, an anti-same-sex marriage bill is currently pending. Based on a poll, 76 percent of those surveyed support a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage and similar unions. In another poll, over half of North Carolina residents would oppose a ban on same-sex marriage, though the majority does not support granting full marriage rights to same-sex couples. 27.5% of those polled support civil unions or registered partnerships providing most of the rights found in a civil marriage, and 20.8% of those polled support full same-sex marriage. 44.4% oppose any form of legal recognition for same-sex couples.

Matt trying to make it clear

No, I didn't say it was a waste of time. And we do cover items of interest from ENC when we know about them. But we don't expend extra resources on tracking these items down when our small staff needs to be focusing on our core readership (Charlotte, Raleigh area, Triad area). That is where the OVERWHELMING majority of our readers are. It make nothing but pure common sense for us to focus our resources there, does it not? Regardless, if there are ever items from ENC that you want us to be aware of, please make us aware of it. We are more than willing to cover items of interest.

arts. entertainment. news. views.

Please I remember back when you did a piece on the Real Estate crisis, when you couldn't even pick up a phone or email Real Estate broker to see how the crisis was affecting Eastern NC, Yet gave a report about Charlotte, Raleigh, and other others.

However for a Paper who Claims the be for the Carolina's North and South, then live up to it. Hell here lately South Carolina been getting the boot as well.

Yes please focus on those are like when you wrote about the Vigil for those Trans-sexual whom have been killed because who they are, Full detail for Charlotte while Raleigh and Greensboro got mention at the very end of the piece like some type footnote..

So as a suggest to your paper owner, Just go back and Call it Charlotte's notes or was it Queen city notes. And stop proclaim it as
we are the largest and most trusted source of news, politics, opinion, entertainment, art, lifestyle, community events and more for LGBT North Carolinian's and South Carolinian's.
Also where is all the:

The publication’s new direction calls for more in-depth, future-focused features

Finally some Truth in a Email from Qnotes

Sick... We are a paper based in Charlotte. More gay people live there as well. It only makes sense that much of our coverage would focus on the area where we are based and where more gay people live (and, as such, where more gay events take place).

We have reached out to Eastern NC, but have done so less frequently recently as ENC is no longer a viable market for us. In fact, we recently quit distributing print editions there. It is unreasonable for you to expect us to pour regular resources into an area in which we will see practically zero return. We are a business, not a non-profit. Sorry, but that is reality.

Well it’s nice to know that WE here in EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA don’t matter to the rest of the Carolina LGBT community. Finally the TRUTH has come out. Matt has confirmed what I had expected all these years, well since Q-note and THE FRONT PAGE merge those many years ago.

Frankly this should piss everyone in EASTERN NC off. We are not good enough to receive something that is freely giving away on the streets and adult books in Charlotte and Raleigh.

See it all about the money, Since the LGBT Groups gets very little from the Eastern LGBT community they have decided to black list us, to throw us under the bus. Like HRC did to the Trans-community back in 2008, which is why they protest HRC when it was in Charlotte.

So much for being a part of a community that doesn't allowed discrimination, yet here we are being discriminated on the following, No large numbers people, and on money status.

SO EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS.. LET Q NOTES KNOW THAT YOU ARE PISS.

A event that was share with many NC bloggers and News source gets almost no attention at all

More than 7,000 hate crimes occur in the United States each year.
The victims of these crimes are targeted because of their gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or other differences from the “norm”.
Even if we hear about hate crimes, we generally do not see or understand the role hate plays in our everyday lives.
Participants in Erasing Hate will discuss how we all contribute to the problem and what we can do to replace hate with understanding, compassion and acceptance.

jat (aka SNT):
Your rantings are illogical, lacking in substance, poorly researched and an embarrassment to read. Please save the community you purport to wish to help the embarrassment and quit typing.
Defeating an amendment in the legislature every year for the past seven years is not “laying around” or “not doing jack.” Every poll at the state and national level shows increased support for marriage equality as more and more time passes. Therefore, should an amendment actually be put to the ballot one day, the strategy of delay which has been successfully achieved in NC logically increases the chances of beating a ballot measure — not to speak of beating it on a floor or committee vote.
Of course, as Arizona showed us, merely defeating an amendment on a ballot doesn’t mean that the bigots won’t try again two years later.
The rallies by the bussed-in-bigots were of no consequence in Raleigh as evidenced by the failure of the bussed-in-bigots to be able to move their issue and the continued erosion of their issue position in the previously mentioned polling.
You should more than pleased with your leadership in Raleigh. It is the envy of many other states — particularly in the South. The record of tangible accomplishments for the past several years (better HIV funding year after year, amendment blocked, hospital visitation, UNC system conduct policy, School Violence Prevention Act, Healthy Youth Act, etc.) demonstrates how effective that leadership has been — despite being “outrallied” and outspent by opposing groups.
The next time you choose to broadcast your opinion, bring some evidence to back it up.
Comment by Appellation — November 21, 2010 @ 10:21 pm
Well put however, Nc4M not a problem because they failed to get the measure on the floor, Then what about NOM, We protest against two anti-gay anti-marriage bigots when they came to town, and we let over 500 NC4M folks walk all over us.

Yes, Equality NC has done some very great work, However their latest campaign over the fruit-loop remark, made us look childish and right down stupid.

Now the GOP controls the house, which mean the bill on the amendment which has been block for many years may now make it way there.. GOP In control and I have heard rumor that Focus on Family is making plans to get make this happen.

I know why there hasn't been a challenge to the NC marriage law, No lgbt group could find a Lesbian couple willing to do. Better yet, no leader has made that request of the community, because they know they might lose. We will never know if we would have won, since our leaders didn't even try. This is shocking to say. One might thought it would be a great way to raise some cash at least.

Also let not forget that GOP will turn to undo what we have won. They will try to over the following HIV funding, hospital visitation, UNC system conduct policy, School Violence Prevention Act, Healthy Youth Act, etc.

Ian Palmquist had the following to say on the New GOP House and Senate of NC,

We have a new legislative landscape to work in. As you likely know by now, the Republican party has won significant majorities in both the state House and Senate. With the new majority comes new leadership in the legislature and new challenges for Equality NC. We're going to have to work harder than ever to stop anti-LGBT bills and be more creative to find ways to move forward on our issues.
It seem that know that the work they have done and their wins may be undone.

However this how the Community act when NOM comes to town, and when our local LGBT leaders and bloggers call for action against NOM

WHY???????? WHY???????? WHY???????????
The Local LGBT community is a bunch of @#%^&*(), they don't mind miss work for a few hours when the local equality groups and other groups (from out of state) call for action..

Get arrest then beg for money for legel fee, WTF

If I'm even brave enough to handcluff my ass to a fence to draw attendtion to an injustice, Once I do,I should have the balls to pay for my own legal fees.

Those so-call activist whom choose to do so, then gets arrested should follow through. They should pay for their own lawyers and their own bail. To ask the community to help pay your fees is just wrong. If you are going to do it, then do it right

Scott Wooledge aka Clarknt67 on Twitter, has ask the community do just that...

If you ain't got the cash, then don't do the crime..

Where are our Leaders on the Marriage Issue?

These groups that opposed same-sex marriage will be coming active again very soon, Here and here and here

Its time for the LGBT Community to get form behind their desks and from in-front of their computer screen. We need to get into our Law makers face's and let they know where we Stand.

Members of our community need to come out of the Closet and stand up and tell  your local Representative that ewe don't need or support amendment to our State Constitution banned same sex marriage..

We can no longer wait on this issue, we can't contunie to do nothing on this issue.. Where is our Gay couples to file suit to get the Marriage law banned.. Why hasn't any NC LGBT Group try this yet? Why? What are you waiting for. When the anemdment gets approve then its too late...

OK, NC Equality, but that NC money to use in NC Now...

GOP outreach at statewide conference

Republican legislators might attempt to pass an anti-gay constitutional amendment on marriage, although it failed to appear in GOP legislators’ October list of their eight most pressing policy and legislative agenda items.

If approved by the legislature, the constitutional ballot initiative could cost the state nearly $5 million.

Equality NC hopes they can appeal to fiscal conservatives within the GOP who might be uncomfortable spending $5 million in such a tight economic climate. The state faces a nearly $4 billion shortfall next year

Matt did a great job on this piece, however reality hasn't set in for many yet..

First of all I bet the New GOP members and rest of the sitting GOP have all ready met and or emailed each other on how to get this on ballot, and where the money will come from. To think other wise is just wrong. Old groups are or might be starting up again and getting ready for this fight. While we basically sit on our asses or party at the bars on local bookstores.

I remember how our community let NC4Marriage walk all over us at their rally a few years ago, only a hand full of people showed up to protest, rest of community did nothing, that right DIDN'T DO A FUCKING THING AT ALL, hell, didn't even talk about it at all. Not on the blogs and/or newspaper or website. This group buses their people in for it. While we couldn't be bother to get out of bed, because many were to hung over from drinking all nite at the bars. Yet these same individuals could find the time in mid-day to attend the counter protest against NOM.

Palmquist also hopes existing relationships with Gov. Bev Perdue and Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton will put a stop to any anti-LGBT policy moves by legislators. “We fully expect and will be calling on Gov. Perdue to veto any anti-equality legislation,” he said.

I hope he is correct on this, but I feel that Ms Bev Perdue won't be reelected at all.. I feel that our next Election for Governor, Perdue will lose to a member of the GOP.

NC LGBT community hasn't done enough work on the Marriage issue here at all. No lawsuits that I'm aware of; to challenge the State on the marriage issue. Yet, we can do a lot for others LGBT groups in other states. Why hasn't any of our equality groups and gay citizens  file suit to challenge NC marriage law, WHY? What were we waiting for? What ever it was, its may be too late. Only time will tell on this matter.

Gay Marriage Ban coming to NC, What will the community do now?

The FayObserver as this report,

RALEIGH - The economy dominated the fall campaign, but leaders among North Carolina's social conservatives believe the Republican sweep at the Legislature should finally permit a vote on a state constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

Will this happen this coming up year? that is the Question, however my question is what the fuck will the LGBT Community do about it.

Back in 2009 NC4Marriage had a rally to consider this topic, only about 14 members of the LGBT community protested this rally. While our so-called damn leaders didn't do a thing, and didn't want us to hold a counter-protest. Instead they wanted us to attend the NC Equality Day of Action.

However these very same individuals come out if Force When NOM was coming to town. Yes, everyone who didn't do a thing about NC4Marriage gather in Raleigh to let Brain and Maggie know that we would fight them on this issue.

One might ask just who are the LGBT Leaders in NC. To date we have Two Bloggers who fit this, a Equality group and a state LGBT newspaper. These individuals have the power to get the community to rally. Yet, only does so on the events they want. Not those that are needed.

Our local leaders are failing big time.

So I will name names here now and ask what they are going to do about it.

So NC Equality, Pam, and those at Q-notes, will you get the community to come out in force over this, or will you just site in front of your damn computer and do not a fucking thing once again. Like you guys did when NC4Marriage bused people into Raleigh. Will Q-note finally do some true and honest reporting on this matter, Will Pam Houseblend finally support those actions, (the major and the minor) in her own backyard? Or will you just follow the national groups and listen to them over those whom live in North Carolina

Where was the LGBT Community, AWOL as usual

Well there was a rally in Raleigh tonight a joint rally of The Dream Act and DADT, however the LGBT community was absent all together, not one member of Raleigh/Durham area showed to add their support.

I can only guess once again the fucking sheep of the community didn't attend because they didn't get the go ahead from the so-called community leaders... We know who they are.

I guess if the self out whining Dan Choi was there, everyone would have been there.
Once again the community who wants equality for all couldn’t show up to lean support for another group who have the almost the same goal.

This would have been a great time to connect with the Hispanic community; this was an epic failure from our community

Week-Long Campaign Will Focus on Building Pressure for U.S. Senate to Repeal Discriminatory Law During Upcoming Brief “Lame-Duck” Session

Raleigh, NC – Today, DREAM Activists and Raleigh area advocates supporting the repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law announced plans for a local protest on Thursday, November 11, 2010. The Raleigh rally – just one of dozens of similar repeal events happening across the country during the week of Veteran’s Day – will focus on honoring the lives and service of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) veterans by building support and pressure on the United States Senate to immediately pass “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal legislation.

The last opportunity for passing repeal legislation this year will be during the upcoming “lame duck” session of Congress. The “lame-duck” session of Congress is scheduled to begin Monday November 15, and will adjourn when Congressional leadership have the votes to the end the session. North Carolina Senator – Kay Hagan – has previously voiced her support for repealing the discriminatory law.

The local Raleigh rally is part of a national campaign launched this week in many other cities across the country. Justin Elzie -- the first Marine in the nation to be discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” back in 1993 -- and GetEQUAL -- a national, direct action lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization -- joined forces last week to announce the national campaign, designed to run the week of Veteran’s Day (kicking-off November 8 and lasting throughout the week). In announcing this national, week-long Veteran’s Day campaign, Robin McGehee -- co-founder and director of GetEQUAL -- stated, “Justin and I thought it would be great if organizers took action during the entire week of Veteran’s Day, creating momentum across the country for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal as their state’s two Senators return to DC for the ‘lame-duck’ session. As legislators head back to Washington for this last legislative session to address 'Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell' repeal this year -- there is no better time to take our message into the states and into the streets.”

South Carolina Supreme Court knew that even hate speech is free speech

Greenville Circuit Judge Edward Miller had previously upheld Joseph D. Bane's 2008 conviction, but the Supreme Court said a city rule against remarks that “humiliate, insult or scare” was too vague. All five of the court's justices also agreed there was no evidence to convict Bane under other provisions of the ordinance. According to the opinion handed down Monday, Bane was fined $200 after preaching loudly against homosexuality in downtown Greenville and, according to testimony, calling two women “faggots” who would “burn in hell.” Bane's attorney, Samuel Harms, said the ruling means residents can once again “preach against homosexuality without the fear of being arrested by a city police officer.” Harms said the city should have realized its ordinance was unconstitutional and voluntarily dismissed the case.

I'm so glad that some Judges knows that even hate speech is still free speech.....

Susan Sarandon says GLAAD is ‘out of control’

Actress Susan Sarandon has defended Glee after the show was criticised for using the word ‘tranny’.
The word was used in a Rocky Horror-themed Glee episode earlier this month.

Sarandon, who starred in the original film version of the musical, defended the show and accused GLAAD of becoming extremist like the animal rights group PETA.

She told the New York Daily News: “What should they [Glee] have said? [GLAAD is] getting like PETA – way out of control.”

I can only hope that if they are truly going to make a remake of the Rocky Horror Show, that the producer tells GLAAD to FUCK and DIE... GLAAD is Attacking every movie that is gay Theme, or gay subtext if it does conform to their fucking censorship.. GLAAD Action might just one make it completely impossible to make films about slavery or the holocaust, because some one might get their fucking feeling hurt...

Glaad is fucking with our freedoms once again

This time they are taking aim at the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Glee for doing it recently

Those assholes over at GLAAD need to get a fucking life ASAP..

I heard rumor that there might be a remake of the RHPS soon, I can only guess that  GLAAD will do everything to make sure the main Theme and songs will be gender neutral, make it a complete failure..

GLAAD is getting like HRC fucking bulling other companies and business to do what they want. or to make nice big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ under the table to GLAAD.....

BREAKING: Keith's message to us

Statement To The Viewers Of Countdown

I want to sincerely thank you for the honor of your extraordinary and ground-rattling support.

Your efforts have been integral to the remedying of these recent events, and the results should remind us of the power of individuals spontaneously acting together to correct injustices great or small.

I would also like to acknowledge with respect the many commentators and reporters, including those with whom my politics do not overlap, for their support.

I also wish to apologize to you viewers for having precipitated such anxiety and unnecessary drama. You should know that I mistakenly violated an inconsistently applied rule – which I previously knew nothing about -- that pertains to the process by which such political contributions are approved by NBC. Certainly this mistake merited a form of public acknowledgment and/or internal warning, and an on-air discussion about the merits of limitations on such campaign contributions by all employees of news organizations.

Instead, after my representative was assured that no suspension was contemplated, I was suspended without a hearing, and learned of that suspension through the media.

You should also know that I did not attempt to keep any of these political contributions secret; I knew they would be known to you and the rest of the public. I did not make them through a relative, friend, corporation, PAC, or any other intermediary, and I did not blame them on some kind of convenient 'mistake' by their recipients.

When a website contacted NBC about one of the donations, I immediately volunteered that there were in fact three of them; and contrary to much of the subsequent reporting, I immediately volunteered to explain all this, on-air and off, in the fashion MSNBC desired.

I genuinely look forward to rejoining you on Countdown on Tuesday, to begin the repayment of your latest display of support and loyalty - support and loyalty that is truly mutual.

The Dehumanizing of one group by other group whom wants Equality

Dehumanization is the process by which members of a group of people assert the "inferiority" of another group through subtle or overt acts or statements. Dehumanization may be directed by an organization (such as a state) or may be the composite of individual sentiments and actions, as with some types of de facto racism. State-organized dehumanization has been directed against perceived racial or ethnic groups, nationalities (or "foreigners" in general), religious groups, genders, minorities of various sexual orientations (e.g., homosexuals), disabled people as a class, economic (e.g., the homeless) and social classes, and many other groups. Some names are used such as sewer rat, spic, jap, and gook.

Now us in the LGBT Community knows what this mean, after all we hate being call, fag, faggot, dyke, homosexual, ect ect.

Now, GLAAD goes after those whom degrade us in the media, while giving us a free pass to degrade and dehumanize another group. Yet, it’s more shocking; when a LGBT Newspaper does it.

I'm sure the folk whom live in the mountain of North Carolina, Tenn., West Virginia, or any other Mountain range doesn't like being called Hillbillies, in this day and age of Political Correctness.

So what gives us the right to call another group names while telling everything one else that you are not allow to call us names, if so you are committing a hate crime, or hate speech..

click pic to visit site

Hillbilly is a term referring to people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas of the United States, primarily Appalachia. Due to its strongly stereotypical connotations, the term is frequently considered derogatory, and so is usually offensive to those Americans of Appalachian heritage.

Very Nice Matt, this from a person whom writes about equality for all. Yet, you are calling names and insulting a whole group of folks... However thanks for proving that we are just as guilty of the same thing, which we are fighting against. I guess Glaad and you would felt differently if the title was "Faggot Hillbillies or Dyke Hillbillies), used by those bigots in one of their pieces online.. Glaad and you would be calling for some-type of campaign.

Thanks once again for showing the world that we (lgbt's) use hate words and hate speech too... I guess now what we are truly equal to those whom hate us.

Just who's ass did Glaad Kiss to make this happen

GLAAD’s Red Carpet Gala will take place at a private home – an Intracoastal Waterway estate surrounded on three sides by water. Enjoy cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres amidst the sleek and modern décor, on a sweeping lanai that extends around the beautiful pool to the Intracoastal.

Wow another event, where the high and mighty actors/actresses whom most are in the fucking closet ( and will deny they are) but will come out once their careers start to tank... like the most recent one Kelly McGillis.. (see qnotes for from)

The more I read the more I believe that the Cameron Village was a setup

Caitlin Breedlove and her partner Shorlette Ammons.

Caitlin Breedlove, the woman who was removed from a shopping mall in Raleigh, N.C., after a security guard spotted her sharing a hug and a kiss with her girlfriend, tells Joy Behar it’s like a lot of “incidents happening to people of color, immigrants, and gay couples.”
“We asked, ‘Would it have been the same if we were a man and a woman?’” Breedlove tells Behar. “And she said no.”

Click here to see her interview with Joy Behar (the same video interview is available at Advocate.com)

I was shock when I first learn of this event/action. Since it was happening in Raleigh, where there is a large LGBT Community. It was noted that Property Managers of Cameron village took 24hr to respond. Which I find was reasonable and the action they took was also appropriate. They resolve the matter and that should have been the end of it. Yes having a protest was a great ideal, and going thru with said protest only if the Property Management group did nothing.

The head of York Properties met with Breedlove and apologized. A York spokesperson said that the officer involved was immediately suspended. The supervising officer and all security officers will receive additional sensitivity training.

The protest did happen and was a success

However since the protest Ms Breedlove and basically become a media whore on this issue. It all start the moment of the event.. Just who call all the media outlets..

I now feel that this as completely set up by both of them.. Simply to get her face in the papers and on tv to promote her group... This was the great new gay caper of the year.

What ever the case, I did untag, and remove their name. I shouldn't have since this was a public protest, and privacy issues doesn't apply.

It gets Better Video's only half the truth

Yes go to Youtube and see them, Most are Actor/rapper and so recently out of the closet..
What they don't tell you is If you can make it through the High shool/ college bulling, You have yet to meet the bulling from you own community.

The LGBT community is more cruel then any person in school. Where you are called Faggot, Queer and so..

Now you have to face all the other types, your not sexy enough, your manhood doesn't measure up, you don't have the right type of body.. This is Very true in NY, FL and CA.

Where youth and a killer body is all that matter..

To prove my point, KC has a boytoy model as his new bf, really, that young man would never give any other older guy the time of day. But since KC is rich, the young man is using him to advance his modeling career...

so you have to face the high bullies to be able to face and handle the gay community.. Because are the worst of all bullies...

Huntersville Police Department detective hunting for sex on Craigslist

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested a Huntersville man who they say arranged to meet up with another man to have sex inside the bathroom of a restaurant.
According to the Huntersville Police Department, Wilson Toro, of 12320 Cross Meadow Road, posted an ad on Craigslist requesting sex with another man.
A detective with the police department's computer crimes unit found the solicitation on the website.
Police say Toro, 35, set up a meeting on Wednesday, September 15 with an undercover officer at the McDonalds restaurant on Boren Street.
When Toro arrived, police questioned and arrested him.  Toro was charged with Solicitation of Crimes against Nature and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
So we are paying our police to hang out on Craig’s List? Couldn’t they find any real crime to investigate?

The problem was the asshole detective was hoping he was looking a teen or child, but no a adult male, that piss him off.

My question is why the detective was search Craig's list, was he hoping to find a guy would want to be abuse by a cop in uniform...

A detective with the police department's computer crimes unit found the solicitation on the website.

isn't that what all sexual personals are.... it would be different if Toro saw and ask him in person first... No the Detective is the one whom reply to the ad.. Which are not illegal, by the way...

Children should't be subject to life long medical choices

Very interesting statement, which I'm sure the #transinc community will claim to be Transphobic.. in natural. There is nothing bias ...
