HRC shows their true Colors

From Get off my Runway,

“The Human Rights Campaign asked us to take down our trans* flag because ‘marriage equality is not a transgender issue.’
They said this to one of our activists as well as a transgender person who held the flag. We stood our ground, and flew our flag proudly.
That flag flew behind the podium ALL day today, keep an eye for it on the news.”

This apparently happened twice. Well done, HRC. Well done. But I’m not allowed to be critical of your campaign. Get the fuck out of here.

HRC once again whats the T out of our movement.. Chad is like Joe only in it for the pay Check

,p>HRC is also facing criticism from United We Dream’s Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project. In a video posted to YouTube today, QUIP leader Jerssay Arredondo claims his speech at an HRC-organized event at the Supreme Court was revised by the national LGBT group.

HRC’s full statement below: “Tuesday and Wednesday were historic days for our community, as thousands of LGBT people gathered in front of the Supreme Court and in every state across the country to demonstrate their support for marriage equality. HRC was proud to play a role in these events as a member of the United for Marriage coalition, the group which organized the gathering at the Supreme Court. Marriage equality is an issue that fundamentally impacts hundreds of thousands of LGBT people and families across our nation and is greater than any one organization.

“It was agreed that featuring American flags at our program was the best way to illustrate this unifying issue which is why when managing the area behind the podium, several people were asked to move who were carrying organizational banners, pride flags or any other flag that was not an American flag. Several people refused and they were allowed to stay. The coalition welcomed the variety of signs and flags that were throughout the plaza that demonstrated the wonderful diversity of our community.

“It is a not true to suggest that any person or organization was told their flag was less important than another – this did not occur and no HRC staff member would ever tolerate such behavior. To be clear, it is the position of the Human Rights Campaign that marriage is an issue that affects everyone in the LGBT community.

“The events at the Court featured lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender speakers as well as LGBT families, religious leaders, Republicans, military spouses and civil rights activists. This has been a historic week and truly demonstrated how all of us – lesbian, gay, bisexual and straight, transgender and cisgender – can unite as one voice to advocate for our constitutional rights.”

Once again HRC Thinks they own our movement..

HRC MUST GO

  1. Gender identity really is an entirely separate topic from sexual orientation. We probably should not have been grouped together in the first place.
But it's too late for that discussion now--we were, and trans* folks have as much right to what we've done together as anybody else.

    I don't particularly support HRC.

  2. This isn't the first time HRC has thrown a group under the bus,, HRC claims to represent all of the LGBT's, but will throw the T's and B's to the side when they need to..

HRC need to realize that they don't own our movement.. that the ppl help build HRC and the ppl can tear them down..

Children should't be subject to life long medical choices

Very interesting statement, which I'm sure the #transinc community will claim to be Transphobic.. in natural. There is nothing bias ...
