We are the teachers who can stay late after school to aid slower students
We are the maiden aunts and Bachelors uncles who provide financial cushioning in cases of emergencies
We are in his view the worker bees of humanity

James’ remarks were made in response to County Commissioner Chair Jennifer Roberts’ request to send a letter thanking some members of the Charlotte-area congressional delegation for their “yes” votes on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) repeal this month. Roberts was to send the letter to U.S. Reps. Larry Kissell and Mel Watt and U.S. Sens. Richard Burr and Kay Hagan. President Barack Obama last week signed the repeal act into law.
“Homosexuals are sexual predators,” James wrote in one email from string of three between county board members, Roberts and County Manager Harry Jones, and provided by James to Qnotes. “Allowing homosexuals to serve in the US military with the endorsement of the Mecklenburg County Commission ignores a host of serious problems related to maintaining US military readiness and effectiveness not the least of which is the current Democrat plan to allow homosexuals (male and female) to share showers with those they are attracted to.”
James added, “The US Government would not allow Hetero men and women to share showers and other personal facilities yet the leading homosexual in Congress (Barney Frank) thinks it is OK for homosexuals to do so allowing enlisted men and women to fall prey to higher ranking or more powerful homosexuals who ogle them (or worse).”
What is?
1. A person who has a psychological need to get into TV, Film, Radio or Print.
2. A person who becomes aroused almost sexually by seeing or hearing themselves or about themselves in the media.
Who is?
For the most recent one please check the following, Joe my God, Towleroad, Pams’ house.. He story is those and many more other blogs by now….
My breakdown was a result of a cumulative array of stressors but there is no doubt that the composite betrayals felt on Thursday, by elected leaders and gay organizations as well as many who have exploited my name for their marketing purposes have added to the result. I am certain my experience is not an isolated incident within the gay veteran community.
The homeless go without food. The elderly go without medicine. The mentally ill go without treatment. Troops go without proper equipment. Veterans go without benefits that were promised to them. Yet we give billions in tax breaks to the wealthiest 2% of Americans --- those who need it the least.
Joe Solmonese should do the honorable thing and step down. It is shameful to cash all those checks without the follow through on the job. The White House was never put under serious pressure; the late calls now in the e-blasts for the President to do something ring hollow after the toadying that has gone on for two years."Pam how else will he gets his huge pay check?
It is not divisive to ask what have we gotten for the $80 million that flowed into the coffers of the Human Rights Campaign when it comes to leadership. Those funds -- were they effectively used to ensure promised action on by this President on his major promises?Well we have gotta a few fancy dinners and PSA and some nice gift with HRC logo on them. However Joe has gotta alot more, hundreds of first class fights all over the world, limos and lets not forget his almost 1/3 of million dollar yearly pay.. and those of the things what we know of..
In any case, critics haven't any power to change the strategic vision (such as it is), within HRC, and if those in charge simply blow off any criticism, is the community expected to sit silent with hands politely folded? There certainly hasn't been a private summit to discuss the myriad problems that have arisen, nor does there appear to be any feedback mechanism desired. I don't expect that it would occur, anyway, given the bunker mentality in place.and her best advice yet,
And as far as calls for accountability for new media/bloggers/citizen activists? Hey, that's easy -- people won't read what doesn't interest them, and our voices are limited by time -- we're not news services. As we all know here at the Blend, all it takes is a health issue to take me offline for a good long while. Voices will come and go.Pam knows that her voice/blog is heard/read around the world... Maybe this will get some stuff moving in the right direction..
The 24-year-old worked as a hotel manager and cruise ship magician before becoming a performer in the lucrative porn industry.
He now said he wishes he had known more about the risks of contracting sexually transmitted diseases in the industry.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that porn star Derrick Burts, who recently tested positive for HIV, is urging the industry to make condom use mandatory. The 24-year-old actor accepts roles in both straight
and gay films. Burts has a girlfriend, but insists that he contracted the disease during a shoot for an adult film. Burts works under the names of Cameron Reid for his straight porn roles and Derek Chambers for his gay films. Currently the porn industry discourages the use of condoms for monetary reasons. Porn with condoms just doesn't sell as well.
American Christians are mad as hell that a couple of Christians in Muslim countries have been convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to death. Conveniently, they forget their own religion’s history of just that. And some of ‘em are secretly salivating, wishing like hell the U.S. Constitution was a little more like Sharia law, only for Christians. After all, isn’t that what they mean when they say this is a Christian country? And forget that “Judeo” crap they tack on sometimes. Why, down in Texas, where Real Christians run the show, a bigwig named John Cook is gonna make sure that Jew boy who’s the House speaker loses his job. But it’s not because he’s anti-Semitic, mind you. And it’s not about Joe Strauss’ religion. It’s because Christian conservatives “do the best job over all.”

The shop, which caters to lesbian, gay and transgender customers, sells books, DVDs, gifts and other items. White Rabbit has been open in downtown Raleigh for more than 22 years, mostly on Martin Street. In January, the store moved to a new location on West Hargett Street, just below the new residential development Hue.
White Rabbit is closed as of today. Most of the merchandise will be moved to the company's Charlotte store, which is still in operation.

No, I didn't say it was a waste of time. And we do cover items of interest from ENC when we know about them. But we don't expend extra resources on tracking these items down when our small staff needs to be focusing on our core readership (Charlotte, Raleigh area, Triad area). That is where the OVERWHELMING majority of our readers are. It make nothing but pure common sense for us to focus our resources there, does it not? Regardless, if there are ever items from ENC that you want us to be aware of, please make us aware of it. We are more than willing to cover items of interest.

arts. entertainment. news. views.
we are the largest and most trusted source of news, politics, opinion, entertainment, art, lifestyle, community events and more for LGBT North Carolinian's and South Carolinian's.Also where is all the:
The publication’s new direction calls for more in-depth, future-focused features
Sick... We are a paper based in Charlotte. More gay people live there as well. It only makes sense that much of our coverage would focus on the area where we are based and where more gay people live (and, as such, where more gay events take place).
We have reached out to Eastern NC, but have done so less frequently recently as ENC is no longer a viable market for us. In fact, we recently quit distributing print editions there. It is unreasonable for you to expect us to pour regular resources into an area in which we will see practically zero return. We are a business, not a non-profit. Sorry, but that is reality.

Your rantings are illogical, lacking in substance, poorly researched and an embarrassment to read. Please save the community you purport to wish to help the embarrassment and quit typing.
Defeating an amendment in the legislature every year for the past seven years is not “laying around” or “not doing jack.” Every poll at the state and national level shows increased support for marriage equality as more and more time passes. Therefore, should an amendment actually be put to the ballot one day, the strategy of delay which has been successfully achieved in NC logically increases the chances of beating a ballot measure — not to speak of beating it on a floor or committee vote.
Of course, as Arizona showed us, merely defeating an amendment on a ballot doesn’t mean that the bigots won’t try again two years later.
The rallies by the bussed-in-bigots were of no consequence in Raleigh as evidenced by the failure of the bussed-in-bigots to be able to move their issue and the continued erosion of their issue position in the previously mentioned polling.
You should more than pleased with your leadership in Raleigh. It is the envy of many other states — particularly in the South. The record of tangible accomplishments for the past several years (better HIV funding year after year, amendment blocked, hospital visitation, UNC system conduct policy, School Violence Prevention Act, Healthy Youth Act, etc.) demonstrates how effective that leadership has been — despite being “outrallied” and outspent by opposing groups.
The next time you choose to broadcast your opinion, bring some evidence to back it up.
We have a new legislative landscape to work in. As you likely know by now, the Republican party has won significant majorities in both the state House and Senate. With the new majority comes new leadership in the legislature and new challenges for Equality NC. We're going to have to work harder than ever to stop anti-LGBT bills and be more creative to find ways to move forward on our issues. It seem that know that the work they have done and their wins may be undone.

Republican legislators might attempt to pass an anti-gay constitutional amendment on marriage, although it failed to appear in GOP legislators’ October list of their eight most pressing policy and legislative agenda items.
If approved by the legislature, the constitutional ballot initiative could cost the state nearly $5 million.
Equality NC hopes they can appeal to fiscal conservatives within the GOP who might be uncomfortable spending $5 million in such a tight economic climate. The state faces a nearly $4 billion shortfall next year
Palmquist also hopes existing relationships with Gov. Bev Perdue and Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton will put a stop to any anti-LGBT policy moves by legislators. “We fully expect and will be calling on Gov. Perdue to veto any anti-equality legislation,” he said.
RALEIGH - The economy dominated the fall campaign, but leaders among North Carolina's social conservatives believe the Republican sweep at the Legislature should finally permit a vote on a state constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
Greenville Circuit Judge Edward Miller had previously upheld Joseph D. Bane's 2008 conviction, but the Supreme Court said a city rule against remarks that “humiliate, insult or scare” was too vague. All five of the court's justices also agreed there was no evidence to convict Bane under other provisions of the ordinance. According to the opinion handed down Monday, Bane was fined $200 after preaching loudly against homosexuality in downtown Greenville and, according to testimony, calling two women “faggots” who would “burn in hell.” Bane's attorney, Samuel Harms, said the ruling means residents can once again “preach against homosexuality without the fear of being arrested by a city police officer.” Harms said the city should have realized its ordinance was unconstitutional and voluntarily dismissed the case.
Actress Susan Sarandon has defended Glee after the show was criticised for using the word ‘tranny’.
The word was used in a Rocky Horror-themed Glee episode earlier this month.
Sarandon, who starred in the original film version of the musical, defended the show and accused GLAAD of becoming extremist like the animal rights group PETA.
She told the New York Daily News: “What should they [Glee] have said? [GLAAD is] getting like PETA – way out of control.”
The head of York Properties met with Breedlove and apologized. A York spokesperson said that the officer involved was immediately suspended. The supervising officer and all security officers will receive additional sensitivity training.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested a Huntersville man who they say arranged to meet up with another man to have sex inside the bathroom of a restaurant. So we are paying our police to hang out on Craig’s List? Couldn’t they find any real crime to investigate?
According to the Huntersville Police Department, Wilson Toro, of 12320 Cross Meadow Road, posted an ad on Craigslist requesting sex with another man.
A detective with the police department's computer crimes unit found the solicitation on the website.
Police say Toro, 35, set up a meeting on Wednesday, September 15 with an undercover officer at the McDonalds restaurant on Boren Street.
When Toro arrived, police questioned and arrested him. Toro was charged with Solicitation of Crimes against Nature and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
Very interesting statement, which I'm sure the #transinc community will claim to be Transphobic.. in natural. There is nothing bias ...
