SNT: Attacking Rosie for no good reason!
ROSIE O'DONNELL's lack of engagement (and donations) to the "No on Prop 8" battle has been getting a lot of attention recently. Jeremy at Good as You has compiled the points she has made about it on her blog. Considering the fact that O'Donnell and her partner took advantage of the California marriage law back in 2004, her absence today is baffling.Where is it written that she must give money and speak out for this cause. Rosie has her our views on this subject, and she doesn't have to share them with the community.
The gay community in San Francisco literally rolled out the red carpet for her wedding in 2004. The least she could do is give them $1,000 as a kind of reimbursement. So because the community did her a favor she must now we pay it. No she doesn't. What is wrong the LGBT Community in CA, You guys act like if the out Actors, and Actress don't stand up for every little damn community event or problem that they don't care about the community. Rosie has a life, it is her choice if she wants to voice her opinion about his matter in the press.
people are fixated on her because she always feels like she has the right to be so vocal about other things... so not speaking out about this, one of the most important issues facing our rights, is disappointing.Has anyone ever thought that her views on marriage might have change, just maybe her partner and her, has talk about this matter and decided not the endorse it at this time. Just because she has money doesn't mean that she must support ever damn community event under the sun.

Fox News Reports McCain Lies to His Own Campaign Staff?
WTF: Politic Belief now a Hate Crime in CA
Early this week, a man wearing a "No on 8" button was beaten with a "Yes on 8" lawn sign in Torrance, CA.
Police are characterizing the assault as a possible hate crime.
The beater, 23-year old Joseph Storm, is scheduled to appear in the Torrance Superior Court today, Wednesday, for arraignment on a felony charge of a hate crime assault and a misdemeanor count for interfering with another's exercise of civil rights.
Authorities did not identify the victim.
However, it was mentioned that Storm had known the victim since junior high.
In the attack, Storm allegedly knocked the victim down with the Yes on 8 sign, then punched him in the face and choked him. He also called the victim a 'derogatory name for homosexuals' during the beating.
So sad.
Say NO to H8te!!!
WTF so now Political beliefs are now a part of the Hate Crime Family. What the Fuck... Whats next, on the list, Blond hair hate, green eye hate. This shit is really getting out of hand. Not we won't be able to speak about anyone or anything with out it being declare as a damn hate crimes.
also btw, I don't feel that being call a Fag or Faggot is derogarory, same for beng call a dyke, since in our groups well used these terms.. So get over. If you allow them to get to you then you have other issues you need to deal with about your sexuality.

Young voters make their voices heard in North Carolina primary
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tilden Hagan spends his days cruising college campuses trying to pick up students.First off I sometime wonder why these candidates would get their families involve. Isn't there a conflict of interest here.. I mean these kids who campaign on behalf of their parents are bias, because they want their parent to win the election that they are in.
His line: Let me tell you about my mom.
Before they can answer, Tilden Hagan, a 25-year-old Duke University alumnus with shaggy hair, launches into a speech about the ills of America's health care system, lack of financial aid for students and slow progress in making energy green. He insists his mother, Kay
Hagan, can fix what's broken with America and tells them she needs their vote in the May 6 Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate.
"I hope my mom sounds like someone you want to vote for," Tilden Hagan recently told a group of 20 young Democrats at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
We know she will do an excellent job standing up for North Carolina in the U.S. Senate. Her dedication, work ethic and energy are unmatched. Now its funny to me because at least two of her kids were living in CA when she decide to run for the Senate.
Watch more YouTube videos on AOL Video
Now in the video he let it be known that he was living on the west coast. When North Carolina Democrat Kay Hagan told her three children that she was thinking of running for U.S. Senate against Republican Elizabeth Dole, her son Tilden started wondering if he could pull off exchanging his California life for a Carolina one.Now Tilden went to Duke which is mostly white, with 52% of the college make up where African-American makes only 10% enrollment for 2008 and only 6% of African-Americans graduate in 2007, and his home town is 55% white; could this explain why Tilden Hagan didn't seek out African-Americans during his Visit to Rocky Mount, NC during RMT downtown fair call Downeast festival.
He was there campaigning for his mother Kay Hagan, I was there for 6 hours, in that time frame I didn't see him approach any single or group of African-America, I was told by a volunteer at the Democratic office in Rocky Mount that there was one African-American at the event with Tilden, this same volunteer also said that at time Tilden didn't feel comfortable around large groups of African-Americans.
SNT: Proof of sex sell all other must go...
If you saw Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom over the weekend—and the chances are very good that many of you did, judging by its strong weekend box office—you were probably dancing in your seats to the energetic soundtrack.
Since there are four main cast member with two boyfriends has seen in the picture only those with great bodies appear. I can only guess that they are using sex to sell the movie, which in it self is nothing new, but to leave to other cast member out is wrong.
They left out Rodney Chester and Douglas Spearman, I wonder why. Douglas does have a lean body but then again he it's as young, adn Rodney doesn't have a 100% fit body but still in the normal body range.
They chose the three with the most desirable bodies. Proving the point that its all about sex.
SNT: Sorry Sight to see, 20 million for Marriage vs. 1 million for Aids
Despite the recent economic troubles, AIDS Walk Atlanta organizers expect to come close to the 2008 amount raised of $1.017 million.
"We're in a tough economic period in our country right now. All of us feel a little bit worried and a little bit hopeless, but I want you to look around at all of these people. Even in times like these, 10,000 people come out and declare that all people deserve hope," AID Atlanta Executive Direct Tracy Elliot told attendees before the five-kilometer walk stepped off from 10th Street in front of Piedmont Park. How nice, this walk for Aids event raises over 1 million dollars. Sorry Folks this is just plain sad, yet:
"I think you're going to see some breakthrough gifts in the next few days," Guerriero said. Since the No on Prop. 8 campaign put out an SOS roughly a week ago, donations have been running close to $1 million per day -- a remarkable feat, he said, and one that has No on 8 poised to cross the $20 million mark shortly.update: 10/27/08: from Towleroad
Associated Press: California gay marriage ban a big money race. "At least 64,000 people from all 50 states and more than 20 other countries have given money to support or oppose a same-sex marriage ban in California, reflecting broad interest in the race that some consider second in national importance only to the presidential election. Ten days before the vote on Proposition 8, campaign finance records show that total contributions for and against the measure have surpassed $60 million." More on the money race from CBS.
How nice we can raise over 20 million for the right to marry, yet not fight a disease that is killing us. How nice we can raise 20 million to fight hate and bigots, but not Aids
How nice that we can pull this type of money together so we can get marry, but that same marriage isn't recognize in other states nor by the federal government. While those who can't afford medicines to fight their illness.
How nice we can raise this type of money for something that isn't going to happen over night while many of our community are dying.
I want to thanks my fellow fags and dykes for declaring Marriage is more important than life. Thanks to all the Hollywood Faggots and Dykes (even those that are in the damn closet, you know who you are) as well. Yes please raise all the fucking money you can to get Marry while so many other LGBTs are dying of AIDS. Why can't we get this type funds raised for Aids as we can for this stupid ass reason?
why do we what to emulate the str8's, why can't be just be happy with who and what we are. I guess it is true that the gays truly wants to be str8.

Add this one to the pile. A vile video of McCain/Palin supporters -- the Base that the GOP nominee has worked so hard to win over and keep in the fold -- exhibiting the kind of behavior no sane person would want to be associated with, but here we are. These people own their racism and hatred for Barack Obama. Its so nice to see just how stupid white american is. Face it, America this election will make History, either we will have a Female VP, are we will finially have a African-American President. Also it is time for a change, If Obama wins as Americans we should support his efforts to lead us into the future, just we will if McCain wins.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth, closet case me think
Homosexual so-called “marriage” is wrong first and foremost because homosexual behavior and relationships are always wrong. Marriage was given by God to celebrate His divine plan of uniting man and woman to create a family and reflect Christ’s love for His Church — not to bless “unions” based on sinful and deviant sexuality. Any church that blesses “gay marriage” or same-sex relationships is a false church. And government recognition of counterfeit same-sex “marriage” will force such arrangements to be taught as normal to young students. It also will force small businesses to subsidize sodomy-based “marriages” with company benefits — like they do with normal, married employees. Thankfully, God through Christ has delivered thousands of men and women from homosexuality. This photo was taken Sept. 28 by AFTAH at the Folsom Street Fair, a massive outdoor deviant sex celebration in San Francisco. Click on photo (twice) to enlarge.– Peter LaBarberaOk first off why would a group against gays use that pic, what were they trying to get you to look at, the two guys kissing or the black guys' ass? I personally think Peter laBarbera got a boner from that photo.. I bet he has a copy hidden in his own bible.
LaBarbera and Americans For Truth are often accused by homosexual militants with being “obsessed” about homosexuality (and LaBarbera has been falsely accused of being a repressed homosexual more times than he can remember), but he points to the many homosexual and related organizations that are well-financed and focused like a laser beam on normalizing homosexuality in the culture.Well you do have to wonder, why would anyone devote so much time and energy to this cause. It was often said that 90% of gay-bashers are gay themselves who can't come to term with their own sexuality.
My take on Gay or same-sex marriage.
As a thirty-something gay male, my views on the current status of the GLBT community is somewhat at odds with others in the community. I was outed by a family member at the age of 18. I never got the chance to sit down with my family and tell them I was gay. It happens because my sister and I were fighting. Which in this case was odd since the last time we had a fight was before my father's death. Which if he was still alive at the time I wasn't outed, it would never have happen, and if he was still alive I'm sure that I would still been in the closet today.
Our family status affects the way, if and when we chose to come out. It always affects the way we see our new status within our family. Our relationship with our mother and father affects every aspect of our lives.
In my case my father die early in my life, those that think we choose this life will claim it was because there was no father figure in my life. If this was true then please tell me where I got the sensation to see another boy's privates long before he die. They always said you never forget your first, which is very true in my case. One might wonder just how old I was when I first touch other male in a sexual way. This was before I knew what it was called before or it was wrong, if it was to happen in today world the other boy would be in jail today. Then there are those that would claim I was gay because at some point in life I was sexually abused. I was once asked this by a very religious co-worker. They would be wrong on that as well. To this day I can remember everything about that night, and about him. I made all the moves.
I once wrote that I have been called a faggot, and that it didn't bother me. This is true since I can remember being call that way before I knew what it meant. The first time I heard the word was when I was in the fifth grade, it was said by another boy to me in front of a larger group of kids, and from that day it followed me although school. The boy whom called a faggot, come out in his first year in college. I'm sure it was his choice either. Simply he was caught in the act by his parents, whom were very religious, that night the young man was taking to the hospital. I later found out that the only person in his family whom would still talked to him was his mother, who knew that he was gay for years. Many mothers know when their children are gay or a lesbian, many of these mothers goes to great lengths to hide it from their children's father.
So hearing the word for years it doesn't bother me. Even today it doesn't bother; I don't care if they call me faggot, queer, or another other word. By the time I was a senior in school I have heard it all. I was never attack by the other boys (base on my sexuality), to tell the truth most simply stayed away from me (afraid of being can a fag themselves if they were seen with me). I can count all those whom I had sex with in my home town on one hand. Most of them we only fool around, never going all the way. Only two guys went all the way with me.
So living in small town American had a special affect on me, I don't see the glbt community in the same way as those in the community do.
I feel that our main goal should be equality treatment, not special rights. Even as Gays and lesbians we have the same rights as ever other American, with the exception of Marriage. We have the right to be protected in our homes and in our persons.
Yes I know that we can be fired for being gay from our jobs, and be force to moved from a rented home or apartment. Those are minor things that we can fix with new laws. Which many states have already done so? However we don't need laws that go against our other rights that we already have. We don't need hate laws, since I feel all act of violence is base on hate. If we are attacked, beaten, robbed, and ever murder we don't need a law to said it was base on a hate crime (due to our sexuality). When we do this we are saying that we need extra protection because we are unable to defend for ourselves.
On the current item what we are fighting for Marriage, first off we shouldn't be calling it gay marriage or same-sex marriage, it should be just called Marriage. Why do we feel the need to insert our sexual identity everything?
We are more than our sexual identities, we are first and foremost ourselves we each have a unique distinctiveness. Each one of us has gifts and unique ideals, we each see the world differently. When we can accept the world around and accept those things that we can't change then we will achieve what we want. By forcing this concept of marriage of people we are degrading ourselves. We are sinking to their levels. We can't change the norm which has been in place for over a thousand years in a few decades, this isn't a simple change like it was in the 70's to allow interracial couples to marry, it was accepted faster because it was a man and a woman.
Now we come along in the late nineties and every 2000's seeking to change this over night. This type of social institution is one of the oldest one we have, yes it was base on and is deeply embedded in religion. Till we find a way around the religion angle, this matter will not be resolved any time soon
SNT: Matt's post on "Without marriage, low income couples left in the cold"
The argument often leveled against this line of thinking is that most of the rights of marriage can be achieved through private contracts negotiated between a couple and their attorney. What this argument fails to take into account are the large numbers of low-income couples who can’t afford such an option.
A lesbian couple employed as a public school teacher and the other as another government employee can’t afford to raise children and pay an attorney. A gay male couple employed as a fast food restaraunt worker and server at a fine dining location can’t afford to raise children and pay an attorney.
I love the way Matt see the world, its a refreshing take from an young activist who speaks from his heart.
However even the lower class of gay and lesbians can afford to raise their children and pay an attorney for legal work, when its is deem necessary even those whom have little means can afford what they need. What Matt fails to see that those couples who live an lower means might have put those plans in motions before they decided to have children.
Even low income str8 couple have to choose what they need and how they will pay for what they need. In most case straight and gay couple choose to spend less and save up in other to pay for legal advices or services. Which in most case are done during Ferbruary of each year.
In my case, my partner and I have been together for 13 years, my family (what is left) knows what I want. We don't have legal papers ie medical papers, however we do have other items already in place. I knew that these papers will be destroy if and when my son ever makes appearance again in my life (Long story). He is the only one would can challange my estate. I don't forsee this as a problem, as long I leave him something of means in my will.
Marriage equality will protect families. It will protect children. Most of all, marriage equality will protect the most vulnerable Americans: those living in poverty and low-income conditions. Marriage equality is about more than Civil Rights — it is about fairness, humanity and family.
Fairness and humanity are not equal nor are they guarantee by any means.

SNT: Soulforce Arrests at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Six members of a gay student rights group were arrested this morning after they tried to enter a chapel service at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
The students, who are members of a group called Soulforce, did not resist when they were told to either leave campus property or be arrested.
West Palm Beach police made the arrests at the corner of Okeechobee Boulevard and Olive Avenue.
"It was not entirely unexpected," said school spokeswoman Becky Peeling, "because this is the normal operations of this group."
Some members of Soulforce remained near the campus after the arrests, holding hands and praying.
PBA officials had hoped Soulforce would meet with them privately today, instead of making an attempt to solicit students throughout the private Christian school's campus.
Soulforce members refused PBA's request to meet with select students and faculty privately, saying it would defeat their mission of reaching gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students.
Once again we are forcing this matter on school officials who are not open to us. If I was on soul force I would have agree to meet with them on their terms. Some time agreeing does more good then force the issue and being arrested.
The members of soulforce and its board and staff members should realize that being arrested in today's society isn't a badge of honor, In the future these arrests will come back to haunt these kids. By now this group should know how things are going to go.

SNT: Should Tax payer pay for home built on the beach??
On Monday afternoon, the house was leaning precipitously into the ocean.
Midgett said he could not determine the extent of damage to the oceanfront properties until the ocean recedes.
Why should tax payers pay to fix these home-owner's problems, after all they either chose to build on the beach or to buy a home on the beach. We have known for years that beaches erode, so why should the tax payers pay for beach replenish programs.
In the chaos of the storms' aftermath, we sympathize with beachfront property owners as much as we do with those whose homes were destroyed inland. But what could be more irresponsible than building next to an eroding beach that is subject to frequent major storms — particularly since the sea level is rising at a rate of about a foot per century along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts?

The maker of the animated series Family Guy is taking some heat Monday, one day after airing an episode that likened the Republican presidential ticket to the Nazi regime.
During a scene on the show characters Stewie and Brian are transported to Poland during World War II. The duo beats up and steals two uniformed Nazi officers.
That's when Stewie looks down to see a blue and white McCain/Palin button on the Nazi officer's uniform.
"Huh, that's weird" the animated character says.

SNT: Cancer fund raising
That commitment is crucial to helping those with cancer and funding research for a cure, said Karen Zablocki, administrator for the Tidewater affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure network.
"Cancer doesn't stop because of the weather and neither do we," she said. "They're here because they're passionate about what all of us are doing."
The bulk of funds is set to go toward local groups supporting breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs, she said. The rest will go toward research to find a cure.
It would seem that October as Cancer month need to be rename to Breast Cancer only month. Question, which cancer ranks the highest in 2004 and each year leading up to 2004? Prostate cancer out ranks breast cancer, yet I hardly even see anything on it. When was the last time there was prostate cancer walk, or run. Sorry to say this but Woman can live with out a breast, but a man can't live without a prostate..
GLBT History Month: 31 Days, 31 Heroes MY TAKE..
Robert Mapplethorpe -- Photographer best known for his sexy works X Portfolio, Y Portfolio, and Z Portfolio. was an American photographer, known for his large-scale, highly stylized black and white portraits, photos of flowers and naked men. The frank, homosexual eroticism of some of the work of his middle period triggered a more general controversy about the public funding of artworks.Ok what exactly did he do for the gay community. I'm sorry just because he was gay photographer who create a very controversy with his art, and that he died of AIDS, what did he do?? I' m lost for words. I know for sure there were others that photograph the gay community in the 70's and 80's. Gay Hero! I think not!
Nearly a year before his death, the ailing Mapplethorpe helped found the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, Inc. His vision for the Foundation was that it would be "the appropriate vehicle to protect his work, to advance his creative vision, and to promote the causes he cared about". Since his death, the Foundation has not only functioned as his official Estate and helped promote his work through out the world, but it has also raised and donated millions of dollars to fund medical research in the fight against AIDS and HIV infection.

Millions and Millions for Pro 8 In CA.
So what was achieve and what was won, not much in my book.
Hollywood is all going out to support gay marriage, giving millions and millions of dollars, yet these actors and actress do very little to help other in need. I don't see these entire self centered actor and actress giving this type of money to combat homeless, and hunger and what about HIV/AIDS awareness. The only the member of Hollywood comes out for HIV/AIDS is once a year and only after one or two older Actor/actress lends their name to the campaign
As a gay man I don't really much care about same sex marriage. I would rather see the laws we have now enforce equally.
Those that have giving that was in the press for or against Pro #8
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has donated $25,000

A lot of money for ads and tv time, while there are children that don't have a place to live, clothes and food. Then again I marriage is more important than these kids in the US who hae no one to care for them, or our Vets who have lost their homes those that need medical care, those that are basically living on the fucking streets.

(Sorry, but this benefit can't be transferred!)I can understand giving students a discounted rate, after all they are in school and have many other finical concerns. Then there are those that are finically challenge, but have to pay more than students.
What I don't like the Individual Registration and Individual Sponsorship costs. For additional $75.00 you can get your name listed in the program guide. Then there if you gave more than $1200.00 within this year you get in basically for free.
This part really gets me:
The board and staff of Equality NC Foundation are strongly committed to welcoming people from all income levels to this event. We have made every effort to keep our registration fees as low as possible while still rising needed funds for our work.If this is true then charge everyone the same fee, even those you have given money over the year. Then it would be easier for than to help those you really can't afford to attend.
I' appreciate all the work those that Equality North Carolina have done, but I still wonder exactly whom in our community benefited; who are they working for?

Surfing the Net.. Found this
Cindy McCain has said she wants Barack Obama to trade shoes/places with her, so that he would know what it’s like to have a child serving in the US military.
Wow would she be surprised at what it’s like to be black in America.
Yes Ms McCain, let see how you would handle being black in America, being profiled while driving black, being watch everytime you walk in to department stores..
Ms McCain its easy being rich and white in America, let she if you can handle being black in America
SNT: So tired of hearding about Lance Bass
From Towleroad,
Although he's been linked to trainer Sebastian Leal in recent months, Lance Bass told AfterElton, during an interview about his stint on Dancing with the Stars, that he doesn't have a boyfriend.Well maybe if he stop the damn photo ops then he wouldn't be in the public eye so much, he would just talk his sex parnter to a more private place instead of showing off with them in public. No he won't do that because he is a media whore..
Said Bass: "You get seen with one person and that’s automatically your boyfriend."
As far as dating in the public eye, Bass says, "It’s really impossible to date, especially when you’re doing something as big as Dancing with the Stars. It’s a monster of a show and it keeps you working 24/7 for months. Right now it’s almost impossible to have any kind of personal life, especially a love life, so that’s on hold for right now...It’s easier to date someone in the business because they get what you do and you don’t have to teach people how to deal with the situation, being in the public eye. It’s really hard to deal with that when you’ve never had to deal with people, paparazzi, interviews, the schedule we have. So it’s a lot easier to date inside the business. But if you do date someone inside the business, then it really takes a toll on your relationship because the [media is] just more focused on your relationship, which ultimately, you know, destroys it. It’s win or lose in those situations, so nothing is easier inside or outside the business."
I only wish this fag would have stayed in the closet when he belongs. I'm personally tired of hearing about him and every damn thing he does. The damn LGBT treat him like so f'ing god of the community..
What is the deal

Email Humor
Dad says,' Well son, let me try to explain it this way:
I am the head of the family, so call me The President.
Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government.
We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People.
The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class.
And your baby brother, we will call him the Future.
Now think about that and see if it makes sense.
So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him.
He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper.
So the little boy goes to his parent's room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.
The next morning, the little boy says to his father, 'Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now.'
The father says, 'Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.'
The little boy replies,
'The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit.'

Why was Ms Hagan Son shying away from African-Americans @ event.
When asked about the polling data that shows Hagan and Neal statistically even, Hagan spokesperson Colleen Flanagan countered with a Feb. 6 poll conducted by Public Policy Polling. In that particular poll, Hagan had 21 percent while Neal clocked in at only seven. The Hagan campaign had no comment on particular polling data, but issued a statement through Flanagan:“Sen. Hagan is working to give North Carolina a fresh voice in Washington — new ideas and new approaches to solving old problems. Her record of leadership in the state Senate is that of a problem-solver, someone who puts results before anything else. Sen. Hagan is second to no one when it comes to protecting all people from discrimination. Over the coming weeks and months, folks all over the state will hear from Sen. Hagan about her record and what she will bring to Washington, but more importantly, she’ll hear from North Carolinians about the issues most important to them.”Q-Notes was unable to reach Flanagan to pose follow-up questions about Hagan’s specific support for issues such as marriage equality, employment non-discrimination, hate crimes and the military’s anti-gay “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. We asked for the candidate’s stand on each of these issues in our initial request for comment.During a Feb. 25 forum at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Hagan told students she would leave the definition of marriage up to state law.

SNT: (OT) Troopergate Report: Palin GUILTY of Unlawful Abuse of Power
Alaska panel finds Palin abused power in firing
Read the investigative report in Palin ethics probe (pdf)A legislative committee investigating Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found she unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner. The investigative report concludes that a family grudge wasn't the sole reason for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan but says it likely was a contributing factor.
The Republican vice presidential nominee has been accused of firing a commissioner to settle a family dispute. Palin supporters have called the investigation politically motivated.

SNT: Connecticut Supreme Court on Gay Marriage...
Eight same-sex couples sued in 2004, saying their constitutional rights to equal protection and due process were violated when they were denied marriage licenses. The plaintiffs wanted the court to rule that the law discriminates against them because it applies only to heterosexual couples, therefore denying gay couples the financial, social and emotional benefits of marriage. From the opinion (PDF):
Great another court making new law, this issue need to be decided by the people, not the courts, We need to stop forcing this issue, yes the state's Supreme Courts make any ruling they like, then the lawmakers can followed shortly thereafter by a public referendum permanently banning gay marriage in the state constitution.
Enough is Enough, marriage isn't for everyone, in short I would love to see us do away with Marriage all together.
UPDATE: Connecticut's Republican Governor, Jodi Rell, won't fight the ruling:
“I disagree with today’s State Supreme Court ruling but as governor, I will uphold it. I continue to believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.
I also believe that the historic civil union law that I proudly signed in 2005 is equitable and just. We were the first state to enact such a law through legislative action and not a court mandate.
The Supreme Court has spoken. I do not believe their voice reflects the majority of the people of Connecticut. However, I am also firmly convinced that attempts to reverse this decision – either legislatively or by amending the state Constitution – will not meet with success. I will therefore abide by the ruling.”
SNT: WTF Soulforce action like a bunch of damn kids..
Palm Beach Atlantic University officials reconsidered their initial ban of a gay students' rights group from campus, offering members a space for a few hours on Monday to meet with select students and staff from the private Christian school.
But the group, called Soulforce, called the invitation too restrictive and said members planned to walk onto PBAU's downtown West Palm Beach campus at noon, hoping to conduct a more open forum.
''Unfortunately, the format is not conducive to reaching out to the Palm Beach Atlantic community in the spirit of open dialogue,'' a statement released by Soulforce on Wednesday said in reference to PBAU's offer.
``Additionally, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students who need to hear our message of love and affirmation would not be reached in this format.''
For the first time Soul force is being invited to a Christian school and they are bitching over some damn restrictions. What the F* guys, I guess you rather be arrested like so many were last year. What is the damn problem now. I guess you want to be arrested, damn at least they are willing to allow you on the campus, maybe this is due to the fact that Jerry F, is dead. Just accept the damn invitation and be happy.
Link to story, link to soulforce
''After the Soulforce riders had persisted in their desire to visit our school, our leaders prayerfully felt that they should extend the courtesy of a private meeting,'' Peeling said. ``Our hope was that they would accept our offer, so that previously planned campus activities would not be disrupted.''
Soulforce's first stop this year was an Oct. 1 visit to Liberty University in Virginia. In 2006, several Soulforce members were arrested at Liberty, and the evangelical school initially banned Soulforce from campus again this year. Liberty later agreed to allow five representatives on campus to talk to students.
